2013–14 Conference USA Men's Basketball Season
The 2013–14 Conference USA men's basketball season began with practices in October 2013, followed by the start of the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Preseason Preseason polls C-USA was the only conference not to publish an official preseason poll. However, other publications did publish preseason projections. Although CBS Sports did not rank all the teams, they selected Louisiana Tech as their projected champion and mentioned Southern Miss and UTEP as contenders. Preseason Players to Watch C-USA did not name a preseason all-conference team, but each of the coaches selected a player to watch from their team. Estero, Florida
Estero is a village in Lee County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 36,939. During the 2010 census, Estero was an unincorporated community, or census-designated place, the population at that time was 22,612. Estero incorporated as a village in 2014. Hertz Arena is a 7,181-seat multi-purpose arena in Estero, Florida, which is located between Miromar Lakes, Florida and Bonita Springs, Florida. The arena opened in November 1998 and serves as the home of the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. History The arena was first named Everblades Arena in 1998 after the hockey team that plays there. The Gulf Coast Showcase is a college basketball tournament that started in 2013 held at Hertz Arena in Estero, Florida. The men’s eight-team tournament, was designed to showcase the top mid-major programs from across the country. The 2013–14 Charlotte 49ers men's basketball team represented the University of North Carolina at Charlotte during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The 49ers, led by fourth head coach Alan Major, played their home games at the Dale F. Halton Arena and were new members Conference USA. They finished the season 17–14, 7–9 in C-USA play to finish in a tie for eighth place. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the C-USA tournament where they lost to Louisiana Tech. Roberto Clemente Coliseum (Spanish: ''Coliseo Roberto Clemente'') is a sports and concert arena located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was, for many years, Puerto Rico's largest indoor event facility, and remains one of the largest. The Puerto Rico Tip-Off was an early-season college basketball tournament owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television that took place in late November of each year from 2007 through 2017, usually the week before Thanksgiving.
