2013–14 California Golden Bears Women's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 California Golden Bears women's basketball team will represent University of California, Berkeley during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Golden Bears, led by third year head coach Lindsay Gottlieb, played their home games at the Haas Pavilion and were members of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished with a record of 22–10 overall, 13–5 in Pac-12 play for a tie for a second-place finish. They lost in the quarterfinals in the 2014 Pac-12 Conference women's basketball tournament to Washington State. They were invited to the 2014 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament which they defeated Fordham in the first round before getting defeated by Baylor in the second round. Lindsay Gottlieb
Lindsay Catherine Gottlieb (born October 2, 1977) is an American basketball coach who is the women's head coach for the USC Trojans of the Pac-12 Conference. She was previously the head coach of the California Golden Bears women's team before becoming an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Gottlieb began her head coaching career with the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos where she spent three years and led the team to two regular-season Big West championships in 2009 and 2011, as well as the Big West tournament championship in 2009. In just her second season at the University of California, Berkeley, Gottlieb led the 2012–13 Golden Bears to their first Final Four in school history, their first Pac-12 Conference championship, and the most wins ever by a Cal women's basketball team (32-4). Maggie Dixon Classic
The Maggie Dixon Classic is an annual early season women's college basketball tournament that was first played in 2006. The classic is played in honor of Maggie Dixon who in April 2006, just after leading the Army women's basketball team to their first ever NCAA Tournament, died suddenly due to an arrhythmia caused by a previously undiagnosed heart condition. On November 12, 2006, the first Maggie Dixon was played at the Christl Arena in West Point, New York; where Maggie coached her only season with the Lady Knights. Since this edition of the Maggie Dixon Classic, every other classic had featured a four team, two game doubleheader. The 2013–14 Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners women's basketball team represented California State University, Bakersfield during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Roadrunners were led by third year head coach Greg McCall and played their home games at the Icardo Center. The Roadrunners competed as members of the Western Athletic Conference. 2013–14 Pacific Tigers Women's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 Pacific Tigers women's basketball team represented the University of the Pacific during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Tigers had a season of new beginnings as they joined a new conference- the West Coast Conference. Pacific was one of the founders of what became the WCC. After four decades the Tigers returned, allowing the WCC to return to a travel partner scenario. Pacific and Saint Mary's became travel partners. The other 4 sets of travel partners were San Francsico and Santa Clara, Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine, Gonzaga and Portland, and BYU and San Diego. The Tigers were led by eighth year head coach Lynne Roberts and played their home games in the Alex G. Spanos Center. The 2013–14 Idaho Vandals women's basketball team represented the University of Idaho during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Vandals, led by sixth year head coach Jon Newlee, played their home games at the Cowan Spectrum and were members of the Western Athletic Conference. It was Idaho's final season in the WAC as they will join the Big Sky Conference for the 2014–15 season. The Vandals would win the WAC championship and participate in the NCAA Tournament. Lawlor Events Center is northern Nevada's largest multi-purpose arena. It is located in Reno, Nevada at the intersection of North Virginia Street and 15th Street on the University of Nevada, Reno campus.
