2013 Women's South American Volleyball Championship
The 2013 Women's South American Volleyball Championship was the 30th edition of the Women's South American Volleyball Championship, organised by South America's governing volleyball body, the Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol (CSV). The tournament was played in Ica, Peru from September 18 to 22, 2013. Brazil won the Continental Championship and qualified to the 2013 World Grand Champions Cup and the 2014 World Championship. Argentina, Peru and Colombia qualified to the 2014 South American World Championship Qualification Tournament in San Juan, Argentina. Ica, Peru
Ica () (Quechua: ''Ika'') is a city and the capital of the Department of Ica in southern Peru. While the area was long inhabited by varying cultures of indigenous peoples, the Spanish ''conquistador'' Jerónimo Luis de Cabrera claimed its founding in 1563. As of the 2017 census, it had a population of over 282,407. The city suffered extensive damage and loss of life during the 2007 Peru earthquake. Location The city is located on the Ica River about to the south of Lima, along the desert coast of southern Peru. Further south along the Pan-American Highway lies the city of Nazca. History In 2007, researchers found the fossil remains of a prehistoric penguin, ''Icadyptes salasi'', which inhabited the Atacama Desert about 30 million years ago. Natália Pereira
Natália Zilio Pereira (born 4 April 1989) is a Brazilian professional volleyball player who won with the Brazil women's national volleyball team the gold medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Career Pereira was part of the Brazilian team who won the gold medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics. During the 2015 FIVB Club World Championship, Pereira played with the Brazilian club Rexona Ades Rio and her team lost the bronze medal match to the Swiss Voléro Zürich. She won the Most Valuable Player award and the gold medal of the 2016 FIVB World Grand Prix. One year later, she won the 2017 FIVB World Grand Prix gold medal and the Most Valuable Player and Best Outside Spiker individual awards. Women's South American Volleyball Championships
A woman is an adult female human. Prior to adulthood, a female human is referred to as a girl (a female child or adolescent).
