2013 Tour Of Zhoushan Island
The 2013 Tour of Zhoushan Island was a women's cycle stage race held in China from 16 to 18 May 2013. The tour has an UCI rating of 2.2. The race was eventually won by Giorgia Bronzini, marking first general classification victory. Giorgia Bronzini
Giorgia Bronzini (born 3 August 1983) is an Italian former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2003 and 2017. She won the women's road race in the UCI Road World Championships in both 2010 and 2011 and the women's points race in the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in 2009. Born in Piacenza, Bronzini took a total of 80 victories on the road and the track, including stages of the Giro d'Italia Femminile, La Route de France, the Tour of Qatar, the Tour of California, and the Tour of Chongming Island. After a 16-year career, in August 2018 Bronzini announced that she would retire at the end of the season and become a ''directeur sportif'' with Trek Bicycle Corporation's new women's team, in 2019. She remained with the team until the end of the 2021 season, when she joined in a similar role. Points Classification
The points classification is a secondary award category in road bicycle racing. Points are given for high finishes and, in some cases, for winning sprints at certain places along the route, most often called ''intermediate sprints''. The points classification is the top prize for many cycling sprinters and is often known as the sprint classification; however, in some stage races these classifications are based on different criteria. General Classification
The general classification (or the GC) in road bicycle racing is the category that tracks overall times for riders in multi-stage races. Each stage will have a stage winner, but the overall winner in the GC is the rider who has the fastest cumulative time across all stages.BBC Sport http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sport/tour_de_france/378101.stm Hence, whoever wins the GC is generally regarded as the winner of the race. Riders who finish in the same group are awarded the same time, with possible subtractions due to time bonuses. Lang Meng
Meng Lang (; 1961 – 12 December 2018) was a Chinese poet and dissident. He was a signatory of the human rights manifesto Charter 08 and a co-founder of the Independent Chinese PEN Center. Biography Meng Lang was born in 1961 in Shanghai, China, with his ancestral home in Shaoxing, Zhejiang. His original name was Meng Junliang (孟俊良). In the 1980s, he was a participant in China's unofficial poetry movements and co-edited the anthology ''A Compendium of Modern Chinese Poetry, 1986–1988''. He moved to the United States and became a writer in residence at Brown University between 1995 and 1998. He later moved to Hong Kong in 2006. He was a signatory of Charter 08, a human rights manifesto co-authored by his former colleague Liu Xiaobo, and co-founded the Independent Chinese PEN Center in 2011. Mei Yu Hsiao
Hsiao Mei-yu (; born 7 January 1985 in Taichung, Taiwan) is a Taiwanese road and track bicycle racer. She participated in the 2006 and 2010 Asian Games. In 2010, she won a gold medal at the women's road race event. In the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Women's road race, she finished over the time limit, and competed in the women's omnium, placing 17th. Hsiao next participated in the 2014 Asian Games and won four medals, including a gold in the women's omnium. In 2016 Hsiao returned to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro to compete in the Cycling Track Women's Omnium event, where she received 64 points to place 17th, the same placement as at the London Olympics four years earlier.
