The 2013 Tevlin Women's Challenger was a professional tennis tournament played on indoor hard courts. It was the 9th edition of the tournament and part of the 2013 ITF Women's Circuit, offering a total of $50,000 in prize money. ITF Women's Circuit
The ITF Women's World Tennis Tour, previously known as the ITF Women's Circuit, is a series of professional tennis tournaments run by the International Tennis Federation for female professional tennis players. History It serves as a developmental circuit for the WTA Tour, which is run by the independent Women's Tennis Association (WTA). There are several hundred ITF Women's Circuit tournaments each year, spread across all six inhabited continents, with prize money ranging from US$15,000 to US$100,000. Players who succeed on the ITF Women's Circuit earn sufficient points to be eligible for qualifying draw or main draw entry to WTA tournaments. Until 2011 the ITF Women's Circuit was the level immediately below the main WTA Tour, but in 2012 the WTA introduced an intermediate level, the WTA 125K series. Sonja Molnar
Sonja Molnar-Palmer (born April 29, 1990) is a Canadian former professional tennis player. She reached a career high WTA singles ranking of 488 on January 6, 2014. She played for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 2009 to 2012 and turned professional after. Molnar played her last match in August 2015 at the Challenger de Gatineau. Tennis career 2008–12 Molnar made her debut in July 2008 at the ITF $25,000 in Waterloo, reaching the second round in singles and the quarterfinals in doubles. Molnar decided to go to College instead of turning professional in 2009 and was a four-time All-Big Ten performer for the Iowa Hawkeyes until 2012.
