2013 Supersport World Championship Season
The 2013 Supersport World Championship was the fifteenth season of the Supersport World Championship—the seventeenth taking into account the two held under the name of Supersport World Series. It began on 24 February at Phillip Island and finished on 20 October at the Circuito de Jerez after 13 rounds. The season was marred by the death of Italian rider Andrea Antonelli at the Moscow Raceway round. Race calendar and results The provisional race schedule was publicly announced by the FIM on 6 October 2012 with thirteen confirmed rounds and one other round pending confirmation. The series will support the Superbike World Championship at every meeting except Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. On 15 January 2013 the Indian round was moved from 10 March to 17 November. 2013 Superbike World Championship
The 2013 Superbike World Championship was the twenty-sixth season of the Superbike World Championship. It began on 24 February at Phillip Island and finished on 20 October at the Circuito de Jerez after 14 rounds. The season saw the number of riders per row on the starting grid reduced from four to three; the knockout system in use for Superpole was revised as the number of riders admitted to the first and to the third session changed from sixteen to fifteen and from eight to nine respectively. In addition, pit stops with tyre changes were introduced in order to avoid races to be interrupted due to variable weather conditions. Tom Sykes was crowned champion after obtaining the third-place finish he needed to secure the title victory at Jerez. Mahi Racing Team India
Mahi Racing Team India is a FIM Supersport World Championship team founded by the former captain of the Indian cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The team entered the last rounds of the 2012 season under the name ''MSD R-N Racing Team India'' with two Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R for wildcard riders Florian Marino and Dan Linfoot. Linfoot took the first podium finish for the team in the last round of the season in Magny-Cours. Telugu Film Star Actor Nagarjuna is also a key member of Mahi Racing Team India. Michael Van Der Mark
Michael van der Mark (born 26 October 1992) is a motorcycle road racer based in the Netherlands. He competes in the Superbike World Championship with a BMW M1000RR. He was the 2012 European Superstock 600 champion. In 2013 and 2014 he won the Suzuka 8 Hours with Takumi Takahashi and Leon Haslam in the Endurance FIM World Championship on a Honda CBR1000RRW. Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours is a motor racing circuit located in central France, near the towns of Magny-Cours and Nevers, some from Paris and from Lyon. The is a 150,000 person capacity motorsports complex located in the town of Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Silverstone Circuit
Silverstone Circuit is a motor racing circuit in England, near the Northamptonshire villages of Towcester, Silverstone and Whittlebury. It is the home of the British Grand Prix, which it first hosted as the 1948 British Grand Prix. Moscow Raceway
Moscow Raceway is an FIA-approved motor racing venue, which is situated in the Volokolamsky District of Moscow Oblast, near the villages of Sheludkovo and Fedyukovo, from Moscow, Russia. It opened on 13 July 2012 for its first event as the fifth round of the World Series by Renault becoming the first major international motor-sport race track event in Russia. Donington Park
Donington Park is a motorsport circuit located near Castle Donington in Leicestershire, England. The circuit business is now owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, and the surrounding Donington Park Estate, still owned by the Wheatcroft family, is currently under lease by MotorSport Vision until 2038. It has a capacity of 120,000, and is also the venue of the Download Festival. Lorenzo Demetrio Zanetti (born 10 August 1987) is an Italian motorcycle racer. He currently races in the CIV Superbike Championship, aboard a Ducati 1199 Panigale.
