2013 Regional Women's Championship
The 2013 Regional Women's Championship was a 50-over women's cricket competition that took place in the West Indies. It took place in August 2013, with 8 teams taking part and all matches taking place in Grenada and Saint Lucia. Jamaica won the tournament, beating Trinidad and Tobago in the final to win their second 50-over title in two years. Cricket West Indies
Cricket West Indies (CWI) is the governing body for cricket in the West Indies (a sporting confederation of over a dozen mainly English-speaking Caribbean countries and dependencies that once formed the British West Indies). Dominica Women's National Cricket Team
The Dominica women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team of the country of Dominica. They competed in the West Indies women's domestic cricket structure between 1995 and 2002 and between 2008 and 2014, after which they were replaced by the Windward Islands. History Dominica joined the West Indies domestic structure in 1995, competing in the Federation Championships. The results of the tournament are not recorded. Dominica competed in the Federation Championships until 2002, and had their first recorded victory in 2001, beating Guyana by 143 runs. Grenville, Grenada
Grenville is the second largest town in Grenada, after St. George's, and it is the capital of the largest parish, Saint Andrew Parish. Grenville is located on Grenville Bay, about halfway up the east coast of the Caribbean island of Grenada and is heavily involved in the agriculture export industry. Grenville's Anglican Church and school stand at the north end of Victoria Street, the main thoroughfare along the bay. Saint David Parish, Grenada
Saint David's Parish is the fourth largest of the parishes of Grenada in the island's southeast. The parish's main town (really just a large village) is St. David's, located between La Tante and Westerhall. Because St David's is so small, the parish is sometimes referred to as "The Virgin Parish". The parish's coast to its east has spectacular headlands, bays and inlets. Daren Sammy Cricket Ground
The Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, previously the Beausejour Cricket Ground, is a cricket ground located near Gros Islet, Saint Lucia standard seating capacity of 15,000. It was completed in 2002 and currently accommodates 13,000 spectators. Originally named after the Beausejour hills and situated in the outskirts of Rodney Bay, the stadium was completed in 2002 and hosts domestic matches for the Windward Islands cricket team. It staged its first international Test match in 2003 against Sri Lanka and became the first venue in the Caribbean to host a day-night game. The sporting facility was constructed on 22 acres consisting of about 18 hospitality suites and a pavilion that offers each team its own gym and lounge apart from a balcony and conference room.
