2013 Podgorica Bus Crash
On June 23, 2013, 19 people, all Romanians, were killed and another 28 wounded in a bus crash near Podgorica in Montenegro. The bus, with registration plate number B 123 MMJ, skidded off the road, crashing into a ravine about 40 m below. A local child who was on the road at the time of the accident was also injured, but not seriously. The accident reportedly occurred around 5 to 6 pm 30 km north of Podgorica, the capital and largest city of Montenegro. There were about 50 people on board, all of them Romanian citizens. The accident occurred during a rainstorm on a narrow road in mountainous terrain. The exact cause of the accident is unknown. The bus was carrying around 48 passengers, two drivers and a tourist guide, and was headed towards the Adriatic Sea. Morača (monastery)
The Morača Monastery ( sr, Манастир Морача, Manastir Morača) is a Serbian Orthodox Church, Serbian Orthodox List of Serbian monasteries, monastery located in the valley of the Morača River in Kolašin, central Montenegro. It was founded in 1252 by Stefan Vukanović Nemanjić, Stefan Vukanović, of the Serbian Nemanjić dynasty. It is one of the best known medieval monuments of Montenegro. History The founding history is engraved above the western portal. Stefan Vukanović Nemanjić, Stefan, a son of the Grand Principality of Serbia, Grand Prince of Zeta Vukan Nemanjić (r. 1190-1207), founded the monastery in 1252, possibly on his own lands (appanage). The region was under the rule of the Nemanjić dynasty and the founder himself was grandson of Stefan Nemanja, father of the Serbian statehood. Victor Ponta
Victor Viorel Ponta (; born 20 September 1972) is a Romanian jurist and politician, who served as Prime Minister of Romania between his appointment by President Traian Băsescu in May 2012 and his resignation in November 2015. A former member of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and its leader from 2010 to 2015, he was also joint leader (2012–2014) of the then-governing Social Liberal Union (USL), an alliance with the National Liberal Party (PNL). Ponta was a member of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies for Gorj County from 2004 to 2020. In the Emil Boc cabinet, he was Minister-Delegate for Relations with Parliament from 2008 to 2009. Kolašin Municipality is one of the municipalities of Montenegro. Located in the northeastern part of Montenegro, municipality is part and unofficial centre of Morača region, named after Morača river.
