2013 Pittsburgh Steelers Season
The 2013 Pittsburgh Steelers season was the franchise's 81st season as a professional sports franchise and as a member of the National Football League. It also marked the 14th season under leadership of general manager Kevin Colbert and the seventh under head coach Mike Tomlin. The Steelers finished the season 8–8, competing with the Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, and San Diego Chargers for the final AFC playoff spot going into Week 17. The Steelers tried to prevent their worst start since 1968 in Week 4, but the Minnesota Vikings would defeat them 34–27. Baltimore, Miami, and San Diego were all 8–7 going into Week 17, while Pittsburgh was 7–8. This meant that the Steelers had to win and the Ravens, Dolphins, and Chargers all had to lose. AFC North
The American Football Conference – Northern Division or AFC North is one of the four divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The division was adopted after the restructuring of the 2002 NFL season, when the league realigned divisions after expanding to 32 teams. This is the only division in the NFL in which no member team has hosted a Super Bowl in their stadiums. Formation The AFC North currently has four members: Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers. The 1999 Pittsburgh Steelers season was the franchise’s 67th season as a professional sports franchise and as a member of the National Football League. For the second consecutive season the Pittsburgh Steelers, Steelers failed to make the playoffs after starting off the season by winning 5 of their first 8 games. Losing seven of the remaining eight dropped Pittsburgh to 6–10 for the year, their worst record under Bill Cowher. Randy Fichtner
Randy Fichtner (born November 7, 1963) is an American football coach. He spent 14 seasons as part of the Pittsburgh Steelers' coaching staff from 2007 to 2020. He most recently served as their offensive coordinator, a position he held for three seasons. Early years Fichtner, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, was a standout football player at Meadville Area Senior High School in Meadville, Pennsylvania. He chose to attend Purdue University, playing defensive back for the Boilermakers. His father is Ross Fichtner, who played quarterback for Purdue, and then played defensive back for the Cleveland Browns. Todd Haley
Richard Todd Haley (born February 28, 1967) is an American football coach who is the current head coach and general manager for the Memphis Showboats of the United States Football League (USFL). From 1997 to 2006, he had stints as the wide receivers coach of the New York Jets, Chicago Bears, and Dallas Cowboys. John Mitchell (American Football Coach)
John Mitchell, Jr. (born October 14, 1951) is a former American football coach and collegiate player. Over the course of his career, Mitchell has broken several racial barriers, one of which was being the first black player for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He served on the staff of the Pittsburgh Steelers from until his retirement following the season. As a player, Mitchell was the first African-American to play football for the storied Alabama Crimson Tide. In his second year with the program he became the first African-American co-captain at the school. The next year, he became the team's first black assistant coach and also the youngest coach to have ever been hired at Alabama. Chidi Iwuoma
Chidi Francis Iwuoma (born February 19, 1978) is a former American football cornerback who is currently a scout for BLESTO. He was signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2001. He played college football at California. Iwuoma has also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, St. Louis Rams and Tennessee Titans. Mark Frederick Bruener (born September 16, 1972) is a former American football tight end of the National Football League (NFL), and a current college scout for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers 27th overall in the 1995 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Washington. Bruener played nine seasons with the Steelers followed by five with the Houston Texans. He retired following the 2008 season. He formerly served on the NFL Players Association Executive Committee. Ron Hughes (American Football)
Ron Hughes (May 6, 1943 – February 12, 2019) was the college scouting coordinator of the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers. Biography Hughes is a native of Charleroi, Pennsylvania. He was a standout football and basketball player at Charleroi High School. He matriculated to nearby California State College where he played center and linebacker on the football team. Omar R. Khan (born February 7, 1977) is an American football executive who is the general manager of the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL).
