2013 Ottawa Bus–train Crash
The Ottawa bus–train crash was a Traffic collision, collision that occurred between an OC Transpo double-decker bus and a Via Rail train in the Ottawa suburb of Barrhaven on September 18, 2013, that killed six people. Details The collision occurred at 8:48 a.m. at a rail crossing near Fallowfield Road and Woodroffe Avenue on the Transitway (Ottawa), Transitway, the city's dedicated road for buses. The train, Via Rail #51 (pulled by General Electric GE Genesis#P42DC, P42 Genesis locomotive #915), departed Ottawa Train Station, Ottawa at 8:32 a.m., bound for Toronto. John Russell Baird (born May 26, 1969) is a retired Canadian politician. He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2011 to 2015 in the cabinet of Prime Minister Stephen Harper. James Alexander Watson (born July 30, 1961) is a Canadian politician who served as the 59th mayor of Ottawa from 2010 to 2022. Previously, he served as an Ottawa city councillor from 1991 to 1997, and as mayor from 1997 to 2000.
