2013 Montana Grizzlies Football Team
The 2013 Montana Grizzlies football team represented the University of Montana in the 2013 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Grizzlies were led by second-year head coach Mick Delaney and played their home games on campus at Washington–Grizzly Stadium. Montana participated as a member of the Big Sky Conference, of which they are a charter member. They finished the season 10–3, 6–2 in Big Sky play to finish in third place. Mick Delaney
Michael Delaney (born December 2, 1942) is an American college football coach, and a former head coach at the University of Montana. Delaney was hired July 26, 2012, replacing former head coach Robin Pflugrad. Delaney is credited for coming out of retirement to help save the UM football program that was riveted with player off field scandals. Delaney has had extensive coaching experience. He was the assistant head coach at Montana State University from 1976–1980, head coach and athletic director at the University of Montana Western from 1991–1992, and running backs coach at Colorado State University from 1993 until 2007. Coaching career Delaney is originally from Butte, Montana. He began his coaching career at Butte Central High School (1964–1967), and then moved on to Great Falls High School (1969–1977), serving as head football coach the last four years. 2013 Weber State Wildcats Football Team
The 2013 Weber State Wildcats football team represented Weber State University in the 2013 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Jody Sears returned as the head coach for the 2013 season, after being the interim head coach during 2012, and will be working with a new offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator in Robin Pflugrad and Eric Lewis. Vermillion, South Dakota
Vermillion ( lkt, Waséoyuze; "The Place Where Vermilion is Obtained") is a city in and the county seat of Clay County. It is in the southeastern corner of South Dakota, United States, and is the state's 12th-largest city. According to the 2020 Census, the population was 11,695. DakotaDome
The DakotaDome is an indoor multi-purpose stadium in the north central United States, located on the campus of the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota. Opened in 1979 at a cost of $8.2 million, the 9,100-seat venue is the home of the South Dakota Coyotes for football, swimming and diving, and track and field. The approximate elevation is above sea level. The DakotaDome was also the home site for the NAIA school Briar Cliff University football team from 2013 until 2017, when they re-located 25 miles to the southeast to Sioux City, Iowa, which is where their campus is located. The Dome hosts other events throughout the year, including the high school football state championships each November. In 2014, a proposal for a new basketball arena went through and construction began just south of the Dome. Fred Anderson Field at Hornet Stadium is a 21,195-seat college football and track stadium in the western United States, on the campus of California State University, Sacramento (Sacramento State). it is the home field of the Sacramento State Hornets of the Big Sky Conference. The EWU–UM Governors Cup is the college football rivalry game between the University of Montana Grizzlies and the Eastern Washington University Eagles, both members of the Big Sky Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). History The Governors Cup is a very intense and heated rivalry, with the winner often the eventual conference champion. The original Governors Cup game was between EWU and University of Idaho Vandals until they left the Big Sky Conference in 1997.
