2013 International Women's Club Championship
The 2013 International Women's Club Championship was the second worldwide international women's football club tournament, and was held in Japan from 30 November–8 December 2013. Five teams, comprising representatives from Europe, Australia, South America, and Asia took part in the competition. Participating teams The invited teams were the champions of Europe, Australia, South America, Japan, and the Nadeshiko League Cup. As INAC Kobe Leonessa won both the Japanese Cup and league, the runner-up of the league was also invited. An unidentified team from the United States was also invited but ultimately declined. Wolfsburg, the champions of Europe, also apparently declined, and they were replaced by Chelsea. Nadeshiko League Cup
The Nadeshiko League Cup (Japanese: なでしこリーグカップ) is a cup competition for women's football clubs in Japan. The competition began as the L.League Cup in 1996 and it was abolished after the 1999 edition. It reappeared on the occasion of the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup, under the name Nadeshiko League Cup. Nahomi Kawasumi
is a Japanese footballer who plays for NJ/NY Gotham FC. A full international since 2008, she won gold at the 2011 World Cup as well as silver at the 2012 London Olympics and 2015 World Cup. During the 2011 World Cup, she scored two goals—including a lob at 35 yards away against Sweden during the semifinals—helping Japan eventually win the tournament for the first time in its history. Early life Kawasumi was raised in Kanagawa Prefecture about 40 minutes south of Tokyo where she began playing soccer as a youth following the lead of her older sister. She played for the Rinkan Lemons while in elementary school along with future Japanese national team defender Megumi Kamionobe. Kawasumi and Kamionobe scored approximately 70% of the team's goals. Emma Jillian Kete (born 1 September 1987) is a New Zealand footballer who most recently played as a centre forward for Canberra United and the New Zealand national team. Club career Kete joined Ottawa Fury Women in July 2009, playing alongside fellow Kiwis Amber Hearn, Hayley Moorwood and Ria Percival at the Canadian W-League club. She signed for Naisten liiga club PK-35 Vantaa in September 2011. With PK-35 she won her first trophy by winning the Finnish Women's Cup.
