Backstroke
Backstroke or back crawl is one of the four Swimming (sport), swimming styles used in competitive events regulated by FINA, and the only one of these styles swum on the back. This swimming style has the advantage of easy breathing, but the disadvantage of swimmers not being able to see where they are going. It also has a different start from the other three competition swimming styles. The swimming style is similar to an ''upside down'' front crawl or freestyle. Both backstroke and front crawl are long-axis strokes. In individual medley backstroke is the second style swum; in the medley relay it is the first style swum. Cameron Leslie (born 17 January 1990) is a New Zealand paralympics swimmer and wheelchair rugby player. Career Leslie was a student at Auckland University of Technology and has a quadruple limb deficiency. He won the gold medal in the men's 150 m individual medley at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Paralympics. In 2013, he won the gold medal in the men's 150 m individual medley, and a bronze medal in the men's 50 m backstroke, at the IPC Swimming World Championships in Montreal. 2013 IPC Swimming World Championships
The 2013 IPC Swimming World Championships was an international swimming competition, the biggest meet for athletes with a disability since the 2012 Summer Paralympics. It was held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and lasted from 12 to 18 August. Around 530 athletes competed from 57 different countries. The event was held in the Parc Jean Drapeau Aquatic Complex located at the Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal. 172 events were contested with 43 new world records set. Venue The Championship was staged at the Parc Jean Drapeau Aquatic Complex in the Parc Jean-Drapeau located in the east of Montreal.
