2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships were held at Scandinavium and Svenska Mässan in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 1–3 March 2013. Bidding process The decision to grant the event for Gothenburg was made by the European Athletics Council at their long meeting in Malta on October 15, 2007. Initially, Gothenburg applied for the 2011 Championships against Paris. The European Athletic Association thought the two cities presented very good concepts, and it ended up with the two candidates get one championship each; Paris in 2011 and Gothenburg in 2013. Gothenburg will use the concept ''All under one roof''. Venue The main venue for the 2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships will be Scandinavium with a maximum capacity of 12,000 spectators, but at the event the arena will have about 6,500 spectators because of the reconstruction. Victoria "Tori" Peña (born 30 July 1987) is a pole vaulter with dual American and Irish citizenship who competes for Ireland in IAAF competition. Early life Peña was born in Los Alamitos, California. Her father's family are of Mexican extraction, and her maternal grandmother Angela McCoy (née Coyle) was born in Derry. Peña lives in Huntington Beach, where she graduated from Edison High School. In 2003, she competed in Killarney at the World Irish Dancing Championships. Cathrine Larsåsen (born 5 December 1986) is a Norway, Norwegian pole vaulter. She hails from Oslo and represents the club IL i BUL. She won the Norwegian championships ten times in a row between 2004 and 2013, although on the same result as Katrine Haarklau in 2009 and 2013. Her first international outing came at the 2007 European Athletics U23 Championships – Women's pole vault, 2007 European U23 Championships where she finished ninth with 4.10 metres. Katerina Stefanidi (Greek: Κατερίνα Στεφανίδη; born 4 February 1990) is a Greek pole vaulter. She won the gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics with a jump of 4.85 meters and has also competed at the 2012 London and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
