2013 Cork Senior Hurling Championship
The 2013 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 125th staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment in 1887. The championship began on 26 March 2013 and ended on 3 November 2013. Sarsfield's were the defending champions and made it all the way to the final, however, they were defeated by Midleton on a 2–15 to 2–13 score line. Pre-championship Sarsfield's were installed as the early favourites to retain the title for a fourth time in six years and put back-to-back titles together for the first time in their history. Midleton and Cork Institute of Technology were regarded as the two teams that could provide the strongest challenge to Sarsfield's supremacy once again. St. Finbarr's were ranked at 25/1 as they hoped to end a twenty-year wait for the Seán Óg Murphy Cup. Roll of honour leaders Blackrock were ranked at 50/1. Bride Rovers GAA is a Gaelic games club located in the villages of Rathcormac and Bartlemy in east County Cork, Republic of Ireland. Cloghduv or Cloghduff ( ; ) is a village in County Cork, Ireland. It has a population of 360 people. The main industry is agriculture, although it is also a commuter village for Cork City. UCC is a football and hurling club associated with University College Cork. UCC teams play in the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship as well as the two main third-level competitions namely the Sigerson Cup in football, the Fitzgibbon Cup in hurling and the Ashbourne Cup in camogie. Newtownshandrum GAA
Newtownshandrum GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the small village of Newtownshandrum in County Cork, Ireland. The club, situated in half a parish of about 800 people, was founded in 1896 and is almost exclusively concerned with the game of hurling. In senior hurling Newtownshandrum compete annually in the Cork Senior Club Hurling Championship, which they have won four times as of 2009. Na Piarsaigh GAA
Na Piarsaigh are a hurling and Gaelic football club based in the north side of Cork City, Ireland. History Formation In 1943 a group of idealistic young men drawn mostly from the hurling nursery of North Mon laid the foundations of Cumann Iomana & Peile Na Piarsaigh. The group had its first formal meeting in the presbytery of the North Cathedral. The young men called upon one of their teachers, Donnacha Ó Murchú, for guidance and assistance. This led to him becoming the first ''Uachtarán'' [president] of the club, with Derry Terry serving as ''Runaí'' [secretary] and Paddy Sutton as ''Cisteoir'' [treasurer]. In choosing a name for the club the members sought one which would reflect their aims and ideals. Muskerry GAA
Muskerry GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling division located in the middle region of County Cork, Ireland. It is one of eight divisions of Cork GAA County Board. The division includes clubs from areas to the west of Cork city stretching to the county bounds with Kerry. Its name is derived from the ancient Gaelic kingdom of Múscraige which, following the Norman conquest, now encompasses the baronies of Muskerry West and Muskerry East. These baronies, or half-baronies, include towns such as Macroom, Ballincollig, and Ballingeary. Killeagh GAA club is a hurling and Gaelic football club located in the small village of Killeagh in east County Cork, Ireland. Glen Rovers is a Cork (city), Cork-based Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Blackpool, Cork, Ireland. The club was founded in 1916 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. They were Cork senior hurling champions in 2015 and 2016, having won their first title in 26 years in 2015. They retained the championship in 2016, when they beat Erin's Own in the final. Erin's Own GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Glounthaune in east County Cork, Ireland. The club is made up of players from Little Island, Knockraha, Brooklodge and Glounthaune areas of the parish.
