2013 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship
The 2013 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship was the seventeenth edition of the Asian Championship, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA). The tournament was held in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand from 13 to 21 September 2013. Nakhon Ratchasima ( th, นครราชสีมา, ) is one of the four major cities of Isan, Thailand, known as the "big four of Isan". The city is commonly known as Korat (, ), a shortened form of its name. The 2013 FIVB Women's World Grand Champions Cup was held in Nagoya and Tokyo, Japan from November 12 to 17, 2013. Brazil won their second title and Brazilian Fabiana Claudino was selected the Most Valuable Player. Kim Yeon-koung
Kim Yeon-Koung (, ; born 26 February 1988) is a South Korean professional volleyball player and a former member of the FIVB Athletes' Commission. She is an outside hitter and the former captain of the South Korean National Team. She announced her retirement from the national team in August 2021. Kim signed a three-year contract with Fenerbahçe in 2011 after playing for Heungkuk Life in South Korea for four seasons and JT Marvelous in Japan for two seasons. She signed another two-year extension with Fenerbahçe and extended it for another season in 2016. She spent the 2017–18 season in the Chinese Volleyball league and came back to Turkey in the following year with Eczacıbaşı VitrA. Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai ( th, เกียรติพงษ์ รัชตเกรียงไกร; RTGS: Kiattiphong Ratchatakriangkrai, born July 17, 1966 in Nakhon Ratchasima), popularly known as Coach Aod ( th, โค้ชอ๊อต), was the head coach of the Thailand women's national volleyball team. Career She participated at the 2006 FIVB World Grand Prix. Onuma Sittirak (, , ; born June 13, 1986, in Khian Sa) is a retired Thai volleyball player was a member of Thailand women's national volleyball team. She was born 13 June 1986 at Surat Thani, Thailand. Onuma graduated from Ratna Bundit University Career Onuma started playing volleyball as a spiker for Thailand's national team in 2006. In 2009, she helped the Thai team won the Asian Championship for the first time and was also awarded the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. During the tournament, she was called "Thailand's Toy Cannon" in an article by the Asian Volleyball Confederation. Pleumjit Thinkaow ( th, ปลื้มจิตร์ ถินขาว; ; born 9 November 1983) is a Thai volleyball player. She was a member of the Thailand women's national volleyball team. Her international debut was at the 21st SEA Games in Malaysia. Personal life Pleumjit grew up in a sport-loving family in Angthong (a province about 100 km. north of Bangkok), having an elder brother. Her parents are civil servants. Before she started playing volleyball, she had been rather into table tennis. She switched to volleyball following her father's advice that volleyball was more fun and more likely to become popular.
