2012–13 Xavier Musketeers Men's Basketball Team
The 2012–13 Xavier Musketeers men's basketball team represented Xavier University during the 2012-13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was coached by Chris Mack. The Musketeers competed in the Atlantic 10 Conference and played their home games at the Cintas Center. They finished the season 17–14, 9–7 in A-10 play to finish in a tie for sixth place. They lost in the first round of the A-10 tournament to Saint Joseph's. This was the first time since the 2004–05 season that Xavier failed to make the NCAA tournament. The season marked Xavier's final season as a member of the A-10 as they departed to join the new Big East Conference in July 2013. Chris Mack (basketball)
Christopher Lee Mack (born December 30, 1969) is an American college basketball coach and the former head coach at the University of Louisville and Xavier University. Background Chris Mack was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in North College Hill, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati. He graduated in 1988 from St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, where he was named 1987–88 ''Cincinnati Post'' Metro Player of the Year. Mack continued on to the University of Evansville, where he played basketball for two seasons. He then transferred to Xavier University in 1990, where he played his final two seasons of eligibility (after redshirting one for transfer rules), and graduated in 1992 with a B.A. in Communication Arts. 2012 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2012 Atlantic 10 men's basketball tournament was played initially at campus sites for the opening round on March 6, 2012 and subsequently at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey from March 9 through March 11, 2012. It was the sixth consecutive year that the tournament was hosted in Boardwalk Hall, matching the longest streak at one site since the tournament was held at the Spectrum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1997–2002. However, it was the tournament's final year in the run at Boardwalk Hall, as the event moved to Brooklyn's new Barclays Center in 2013. The 2012 tournament was also the last to use campus sites for the opening round, as all tournament games will be played in Brooklyn under the new deal. The tournament champion received an automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA tournament. Seeding for the tournament is determined by the conference standings at the end of the regular season. Glen Ellyn is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. A suburb located due west of downtown Chicago, the village has a population of 28,846 as of the 2020 Census. 2011–12 Baylor Bears Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Baylor Bears basketball team represented Baylor University in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team finished 30–7 overall and 12–6 in Big 12 Conference play to finish in a third-place tie with Iowa State. In postseason play, Baylor lost to Missouri in the 2012 Big 12 men's basketball tournament championship game and Kentucky in the Elite Eight of the 2012 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Preseason From August 12 to 15, the Baylor Bears participated in the Canadian Foreign Tour which began their preseason, going 3-1 during the tour.
