2012–13 UEFA Women's Champions League
The 2012–13 UEFA Women's Champions League was the 12th edition of the European women's championship for football clubs. The final was held at Stamford Bridge, London, England on 23 May 2013. Team allocation and distribution The national champions and runners-up, where known, in nations that have participated in the past five years are listed as expected to compete. Some of these teams may choose not to participate. Norway has overtaken Iceland in the UEFA coefficients and thus assured themselves a second entry. Countries are allocated places according to their UEFA league coefficient for women. A first entry list was posted on 14 June 2012 by the Belgian representative. Stamford Bridge (stadium)
Stamford Bridge () is a football stadium in Fulham, adjacent to the borough of Chelsea in West London. It is the home of Premier League club Chelsea. FC Zorky Krasnogorsk was a Russian women's football team from Krasnogorsk founded in 2006, competing in the Russian Championship. In 2012 it reached the national cup's final, lost to Zvezda Perm. In its first top division season the team reached the runners-up spot in the league and thus qualified to the 2012–13 UEFA Women's Champions League. 2011–12 Primera División (women)
The 2011–12 Primera División (women) season will be the 24th since its establishment. Rayo Vallecano are the defending champions, having won their 3rd title in the previous season. The campaign will begin on 4 September 2011, and end on 27 May 2012. A total of 18 teams will contest the league, 16 of which already contested in the 2010–11 season and two of which were promoted from the Liga Nacional. With ten wins in a row at the start of the season, Barcelona broke the Spanish women's starting record of Levante's nine wins in 2008/09. SV Neulengbach is an Austrian association football club from Neulengbach. The club was founded in 1923, and in 1996 expanded to include a women's football section. While the men always played in the lower leagues of Austria, the women are a success story. In 1996–97, their first season, they started in the second division and won it. They were then promoted to the ÖFB-Frauenliga, the first division. In the first season in the Frauenliga they finished 5th out of eight and reached the ÖFB Ladies Cup final. The Stjarnan women's football team is the women's football department of the Ungmennafélagið Stjarnan multi-sport club. It is based in Garðabær, Iceland, and currently plays in the Úrvalsdeild kvenna, the top-tier women's football league in Iceland. The team plays it home games at the Samsung völlurinn located in Garðabær. The team's colors are blue and white. Stabæk Fotball Kvinner
Stabæk Fotball Kvinner is Stabæk IF's women's football team, started on 23 October 2008 with a core of players from Asker. Asker had lost its licence to play in the top league after a failure to meet financial targets, and Stabæk's chairman Mimi Berdal arranged for the new team to be formed within Stabæk IF. The team was immediately joined by other players including Solveig Gulbrandsen. Stabæk plays in the Toppserien, the top women's league in Norway. The new team set an attendance record in its first match, with 1,321 spectators watching a 2–0 win over Røa, and these two teams have dominated the Norwegian league and cup competitions since then. Stabæk won the league championship in 2010 and thus qualified for the 2011–12 UEFA Women's Champions League to debut in Europe. 2011 Toppserien
The 2011 Toppserien was the twenty-fifth season of top-tier women's football in Norway since its establishment in 1987. A total of twelve teams contested the league, consisting of ten who competed in the previous season and two promoted from the 1. divisjon. The season started on 2 April 2011 and will end on 29 October 2011. Changes from 2010 * Norway overtook Iceland in the UEFA coefficient rankings for eighth spot in the 2012–13 European season. Thus Norway gains a second entry for the Champions League which is naturally given to the season's runner-up. Røa IL
Røa IL is a Norwegian sports club from Røa in the borough of Vestre Aker, Oslo. It was founded on 11 November 1900, and has sections for football, gymnastics, bandy, and cross-country skiing. Football, bandy, and Nordic skiing have been dominant in Røa. In bandy, the team has twice made it to the finals in the Norwegian cup, losing both to arch-rivals Stabæk. In skiing, the two foremost names are Olav Hansson, world champion team large hill ski jumping in the 1982 World Ski Championships and Martin Johnsrud Sundby, a Norwegian national team cross-country skier who won the FIS Cross-Country World Cup and the Tour de Ski in 2013–14. Fortuna Hjørring is a women's association football team from Hjørring, Denmark. The club was formed in 1966 and play in green and white. Their biggest achievement in European football was reaching the 2002–03 UEFA Women's Cup final where they ultimately lost 1–7 on aggregate to Umeå IK.
