2012–13 Oldham Athletic A.F.C. Season
The 2012–13 season was Oldham Athletic's 16th consecutive season in the third division of the English football league system. It was Paul Dickov's third season as manager of the club. Oldham began inconsistently in the league before a poor run of form before Christmas 2012 led to Dickov's coaching team being placed on gardening leave. Victories over Nottingham Forest and Liverpool in the FA Cup followed but after a run of one point from nine games, Dickov resigned as manager on 3 February 2013. Tony Philliskirk took over as caretaker manager and Matt Smith's last minute equaliser earned Philliskirk's men an FA Cup fifth round replay against Everton which Everton ultimately won 3–1. Oldham Athletic A
Oldham is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, amid the Pennines and between the rivers Irk and Medlock, southeast of Rochdale and northeast of Manchester. It is the administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, which had a population of 237,110 in 2019. Within the boundaries of the historic county of Lancashire, and with little early history to speak of, Oldham rose to prominence in the 19th century as an international centre of textile manufacture. Mathieu James Patrick Smith (born 7 June 1989) is an English professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Forward (association football)#Striker, striker for club Salford City F.C., Salford City. Career Early years Smith spent a year as a trainee at Cheltenham Town F.C., Cheltenham Town, before being released at the age of 18. Jean-Yves Mvoto Owono (born 6 September 1988) is a French professional footballer who plays as a defender for German club Wormatia Worms. He has also appeared for English teams Oldham Athletic, Barnsley, Leyton Orient, Polish team Zawisza Bydgoszcz, as well as Scottish sides Raith Rovers and Dunfermline Athletic. Jonathan Martin Grounds (born 2 February 1988) is an English professional footballer who plays as a left back or centre back for club Exeter City. Grounds began his career with his local club, Middlesbrough, but never became a regular member of the first team; he made 33 league appearances spread across five years. He also spent time on loan to Norwich City of the Championship, twice, Scottish Premier League club Hibernian, and Chesterfield and Yeovil Town, both of League One. Connor Anton Brown (born 2 October 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a right back for National League North club Buxton. He has played in the Football League for Oldham Athletic and Carlisle United. Career Sheffield United Brown was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Aleksander Cisak (born 19 May 1989) is a retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Born in Poland, he represented Australia at under-20 level. Early life Cisak was born in Kraków, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland and moved to Hobart, Tasmania, Australia at the age of two.
