Martyr's Memorial A-Division League
Martyr's Memorial A-Division League ( Nepali: शहीद स्मारक ए- डिभिजन लिग; formerly known as the Kathmandu League Championship) is the top divisions of football in Nepal. Contested by 12 to 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the Martyr's Memorial B-Division League. The season usually runs from November to March with every team playing each other once and the top six teams reach the Super Six round, where the teams again play each other once. It is officially known as the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial A-Division League. A new Nepal National League was created in 2011 to give chance to compete A level tournaments to the clubs outside Kathmandu valley. Captain Bharat Khawas ( ne, भरत खवास) (born 22 July 1991) is Nepalese footballer & Army Officer. He plays for club Tribhuvan Army Club in Martyr's Memorial A-Division League as a striker and currently ranked in captain position of Nepal Army. Club career Bharat Khawas is an ANFA academy product who has represented Nepal in different age limit competitions and the National team as well. Yona Ndabila (born 11 September 1985) is a Tanzanian former professional footballer who played as a striker and made one appearance for the Tanzania national team. The 2013 Martyr's Memorial B-Division League season, also known as the RedBull Martyr's Memorial B-Division League for sponsorship reasons, was the 2013 season of the Martyr's Memorial B-Division League. A total of 13 teams competed in the league. The season began on 4 March 2014 and concluded on 24 April 2014. Teams Of the 13 participating teams, eight remain following the 2013 Martyr's Memorial B-Division League. Friends Club is a Nepali professional football club from the Kopundole neighborhood of Lalitpur. The club is known for nurturing young talent of Nepalese Football. Sankata Boys Sports Club, commonly known as Sankata Club, is a Nepalese professional football club based in Kathmandu, that competes in the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League. Named after Sankata Temple, the club has won the national championship three times, most recently in 1985.
