2012–13 IRB Women's Sevens World Series
The IRB Women's Sevens World Series (2012/2013) was the inaugural edition of the IRB Women's Sevens World Series, organized by the IRB annual series of tournaments for women's national teams in the Rugby Sevens. In October 2012 the IRB announced that the season would consist of four tournaments - in Dubai, Houston, Guangzhou and Amsterdam - played from November 2012 to May 2013. The Dubai tournament was held in conjunction with the 2012 Dubai Sevens for men, while the others were separate competitions. The number of teams in each of the events was set at twelve, with six core teams participating in all tournaments of the series and the other teams identified by elimination or rankings within the IRB's six regions. The 2013–14 IRB Women's Sevens World Series was the second edition of the IRB Women's Sevens World Series, organized by the IRB annual series of tournaments for women's national teams in rugby sevens. In August 2013, the IRB announced that the season would consist of six tournaments - in Dubai, the Atlanta suburb of Kennesaw, Georgia, São Paulo, Guangzhou and Amsterdam - played from November 2013 to May 2014, with a sixth tournament to be announced later. However, the sixth tournament never took place, and official literature referred to São Paulo as stop two of five. 2013 China Women's Sevens
The 2013 China Women's Sevens was the first edition of the China Women's Sevens tournament, and the third of four tournaments in the 2012–13 IRB Women's Sevens World Series. New Zealand won the final, defeating England by 19–5. Format Teams are drawn into three pools of four teams each. Each team plays every other team in their pool once. 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens – Women's Tournament
The women's 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament was held at Luzhniki stadium and nearby Gorodok Stadium, both in Moscow. The tournament was held from 29 June to 30 June, with New Zealand beating Canada 29−12 at the final. The eight quarter-finalists qualified as core teams for the 2013–14 IRB Women's Sevens World Series. IRB Sevens World Series
The World Rugby Men's Sevens Series is an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments run by World Rugby featuring national sevens teams. Organised for the first time in the 1999–2000 season as the IRB World Sevens Series, the competition was formed to promote an elite-level of international rugby sevens and develop the game into a viable commercial product. The competition has been sponsored by banking group HSBC since 2014. The season's circuit consists of 10 tournaments that generally begin in November or December and last until May. The venues are held across 10 countries, and visits five of the six populated continents. NRCA Stadium
The National Rugby Centre Amsterdam, also known as NRCA Stadium, is a rugby stadium in Amsterdam. The complex is situated within the Sportpark de Eendracht in the district of Geuzenveld-Slotermeer. All international matches of the Netherlands national team are played at the NCRA, and the offices of the Netherlands Rugby Board (NRB) are at the complex. Plans for the National Rugby Centre Amsterdam (NRCA) were formed by the NRB in the eighties and nineties as the increasing interest in rugby grew so strong that the old offices in Bussum became impracticable. The Amsterdam Women's Sevens began in 2005. On 4 October 2012, the IRB announced the launch of the IRB Women's Sevens World Series, the women's counterpart to the wildly successful IRB Sevens World Series for men. The Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center Central Stadium () is a stadium situated in the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center, Guangzhou, Guangdong province, China.
