2012–13 Hofstra Pride Men's Basketball Team
The 2012–13 Hofstra Pride men's basketball team represented Hofstra University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Pride, led by third year head coach Mo Cassara, played their home games at Mack Sports Complex and were members of the Colonial Athletic Association. They finished the season 7–25, 4–14 in CAA play to finish in tenth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the CAA tournament to Delaware. Mo Cassara
Richard Morgan “Mo” Cassara (born July 10, 1973) is an American basketball coach and was Hofstra University's men's head coach from 2010–2013. Cassara was named head coach on May 5, 2010, agreeing to a multi-year deal with the university Cassara is a graduate of Berkshire School, Worcester Academy and St. Lawrence University. He previously served as the head coach at Worcester Academy and Clark University. In addition, he was an assistant coach at the University of Dayton and Boston College. The Empire Classic, formerly known as the 2K Sports Classic, is an annual college basketball event played in November at the beginning of the season and televised by ESPN. Originally known as the Atlantic City Shootout and produced by the Gazelle Group, Inc., the event was first played in 1995. The following year, it became the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic as a collaboration between the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the American Cancer Society in an effort to raise funds for cancer research. In 2012, the tournament beneficiary became Wounded Warrior Project, resulting in the tournament being renamed the 2K Sports Classic. West Lafayette () is a city in Wabash Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana, United States, about northwest of the state capital of Indianapolis and southeast of Chicago. Mackey Arena is located in West Lafayette, Indiana. Part of the Purdue University campus, it is home to the university's basketball teams, and occasionally hosts home games for the volleyball and wrestling teams. The arena opened in 1967 as a replacement for Lambert Fieldhouse. The 2012–13 Purdue Boilermakers men's basketball team represented Purdue University in the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season . The head coach was Matt Painter, in his eighth season with the Boilers. The team played its home games in Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana and was a member of the Big Ten Conference. They finished the season 16–18, 8–10 in Big Ten play to finish in a three-way tie for seventh place. After a first round loss in the Big Ten tournament, the school received a bid to in the College Basketball Invitational where they lost to Santa Clara in the quarterfinals. Multipurpose Activity Center
OceanFirst Bank Center (formerly Multipurpose Activity Center) is a multi-purpose student recreational facility at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. It was opened on August 26, 2009. It currently hosts the Monmouth Hawks basketball teams. It has a seating capacity of 4,100 spectators. It adjoins the William T. Boylan Gymnasium. The venue cost $57 million to construct. The facility was originally named the Multipurpose Activity Center until June 2016, when the university and OceanFirst Bank reached a $4 million agreement through 2036 that included the naming rights of the facility.
