2012–13 Detroit Red Wings Season
The 2012–13 Detroit Red Wings season was the 87th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on September 25, 1926. The regular season was reduced from its usual 82 games to 48 due to a lockout. This was the first time in a long time that the Red Wings did not have Nicklas Lidstrom on their roster, lost to retirement. Henrik Zetterberg was appointed as team captain. Off-season On May 31, 2012, defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom announced his retirement from the NHL after 20 seasons. Western Conference (NHL)
The Western Conference (french: Conférence de l'Ouest) is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Eastern Conference. History Originally named the Clarence Campbell Conference (or Campbell Conference for short), it was created in 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. Because the new conferences and divisions had little to do with North American geography, geographical references were removed. The conferences and divisions were re-aligned in 1981 to better reflect the geographical locations of the teams, but the existing names were retained with the Campbell Conference becoming the conference for the NHL's westernmost teams. Brian Lashoff
Brian Lashoff (born July 16, 1990) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman currently playing as captain for the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League (AHL). He has previously played with the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career As a youth, Lashoff played in the 2003 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the New York Rangers minor ice hockey team. Valtteri Filppula (born 20 March 1984) is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward (ice hockey), forward for Genève-Servette HC of the National League (ice hockey), National League (NL). Johan Franzén
Johan Marcus Gunnar Franzén (; born 23 December 1979) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey winger who played 11 seasons for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). His career ended early in the 2015-16 season due to post-concussion syndrome. He also played for Linköpings HC in the Elitserien (later Swedish Hockey League). Ian White (born June 4, 1984) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played over 500 games in the National Hockey League. Drew Miller (born February 17, 1984) is an American former professional ice hockey winger. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Anaheim Ducks, Tampa Bay Lightning and Detroit Red Wings.
