2012–13 CHL Season
The 2012–13 CHL season was the 21st season of the Central Hockey League (CHL). League business Following the 2011–12 CHL season the number of the teams in the CHL dropped to 10 teams, with the Ray Miron President's Cup-winning Fort Wayne Komets moving to the ECHL along with the Evansville IceMen, the Dayton Gems ceased operations and were replaced by a Federal Hockey League team, the Dayton Demonz, the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees ceased operations, the Laredo Bucks were moved to St. Charles, Missouri, and would rejoin the league as the St. Charles Chill in the 2013–14 CHL Season. The Denver Cutthroats joined the CHL to play in their inaugural season. The CHL eliminated its previous two-conference system consisting of the Berry and Turner conferences and played as a single 10-team league. Central Hockey League
The Central Hockey League (CHL) was a North American mid-level minor professional ice hockey league which operated from 1992 until 2014. It was founded by Ray Miron and Bill Levins and later sold to Global Entertainment Corporation, which operated the league from 2000 to 2013, at which point it was purchased by the individual franchise owners. As of the end of its final season in 2014, three of the 30 National Hockey League teams had affiliations with the CHL: the Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and Tampa Bay Lightning. Several teams of defunct leagues joined the CHL along its history, including the Southern Hockey League, Western Professional Hockey League and International Hockey League. Quad City Mallards
The Quad City Mallards were a minor league professional ice hockey team based in the Quad Cities area of Illinois and Iowa that competed in the International Hockey League, Central Hockey League and ECHL. They were named after the Mallards team that played in the United Hockey League from 1995 to 2007, this Mallards franchise marked their debut in 2009 in the International Hockey League. The Mallards played their home games at TaxSlayer Center in Moline, Illinois. The Mallards ceased operations at the conclusion of the 2017–18 ECHL season. Danny Battochio
Danny Battochio (born December 21, 1985) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He retired playing with the Rapid City Rush of the ECHL and is a goalie consultant. Playing career Battochio played major junior hockey with the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) where he was twice selected to receive the Roger Neilson Memorial Award as the OHL's top academic College/University player, and also winning the Bobby Smith Trophy as the OHL Scholastic Player of the Year for the 2005–06 season. Battochio then attended St. Francis Xavier University where he played Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) hockey within the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) conference. Kevin Regan
Kevin Regan (born July 25, 1984) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played college ice hockey for the New Hampshire Wildcats, and once held the all-time leader in save percentage in Hockey East conference games. Playing career Born in South Boston, Massachusetts, Regan attended Saint Sebastian's School in Needham, Massachusetts. He began his career playing for the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL for the 2003–04 season. While playing in Waterloo he was one of the most successful goaltenders that the team has seen, setting team records for single season wins and shutouts. That year the Black Hawks reached the Clark Cup finals and Regan was named the Clark Cup MVP. Mickey Lang (born August 13, 1986) is an American former professional ice hockey player. He has also been a junior ice hockey head coach since retiring as a player. Undrafted out of Manhattanville College, on January 27, 2013, Lang was released from his tryout contract with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League, and returned to the Quad City Mallards to finish the 2012–13 CHL season where he was rewarded for his outstanding play by being named to the 2012–13 All-CHL Team.
