Burnley () is a town and the administrative centre of the wider Borough of Burnley in Lancashire, England, with a 2001 population of 73,021. A penalty kick (commonly known as a penalty or a spot kick) is a method of restarting play in association football, in which a player is allowed to take a single shot at the goal while it is defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. It is awarded when an offence punishable by a direct free kick is committed by a player in their own penalty area. Michael Paul Trevor Bostwick (born 17 May 1988) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for National League North club Boston United. Bostwick started his career at Millwall, and played regularly for the club's under-18 team and reserve team. At the age of 17, he joined Conference National club Crawley Town on a work experience loan during the latter stages of 2005–06 season. Bostwick played regularly for Crawley until he was recalled by Millwall in January 2007. Christopher John McCann (born 21 July 1987) is an Irish professional footballer who plays for Shamrock Rovers. A graduate of the youth system at Home Farm, McCann joined Burnley as a teenager, making his first team debut in 2005. An own goal, also called a self goal, is where a player performs actions that result in them or their team scoring a goal on themselves, often resulting in a point for the opposing team, such as when a football player kicks a ball into their own net or goal, awarding the other team a point. Gordon Greer (born 14 December 1980) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a defender. Greer played for Clyde, Blackburn Rovers (two spells), Stockport County, Kilmarnock (two spells), Doncaster Rovers, Swindon Town and Brighton & Hove Albion during his career.
