2012–13 Arkansas Razorbacks Men's Basketball Team
The 2012–13 Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball team represented the University of Arkansas in the 2012–13 college basketball season. The team's head coach is Mike Anderson, who completed his second season at Arkansas after posting an 18-14 record during the 2011–2012 season, where the Razorbacks finished ninth in the SEC. Arkansas finished seventh in the SEC, but a 1-12 record away from the state of Arkansas kept it from participating in the postseason. Mike Anderson (basketball Coach)
Michael Andre Anderson (born December 12, 1959) is an American basketball coach, currently the head coach of the St. John's Red Storm. He came to St. John's after previously serving as head coach at UAB, Missouri and Arkansas. He also served as an assistant/associate head coach under Nolan Richardson at Arkansas for 17 years. Over his 20 seasons as a head coach, Anderson has compiled a 414–235 record, 11 20-win campaigns, 9 NCAA Tournament appearances, two Sweet 16 berths and a run to the 2009 Elite Eight. Anderson is one of just 3 current Division I head coaches with 15+ years of experience and no losing seasons, along with Mark Few and Tom Izzo. Orleans Arena
Orleans Arena is a 9,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Paradise, Nevada, in the Las Vegas Valley. It is located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino and is operated by Coast Casinos, a subsidiary of Boyd Gaming Corporation. The arena is the home to the Vegas Rollers of World TeamTennis since 2019. It is also an occasional home for the UNLV Rebels basketball team when the Thomas & Mack Center is in use. The Sun Devils, led by seventh-year head coach Herb Sendek, played their home games at the Wells Fargo Arena and were members of the Pac-12 Conference. The Las Vegas Invitational is an 8 team college basketball tournament held during Thanksgiving of NCAA Division I men's college basketball season annually since 2003. The Tournament was originally held in the gymnasium of Valley High School, until moving to the new Orleans Arena in 2006. The tourney launched with local car dealer Findlay Toyota as its sponsor. From 2006 to 2013 the sponsor of the tournament was IBN Sports. Continental Tire is the current sponsor of the tournament. Fox Sports purchased the event and the Las Vegas Classic in 2015. The 2012–13 Longwood Lancers men's basketball team represented Longwood University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Lancers, led by tenth year head coach Mike Gillian, played their home games at Willett Hall and were members of the North Division of the Big South Conference. This was the Lancers first season in the Big South. They finished the season 8–25, 4–12 in Big South play to finish in last place in the North Division. LeMoyne–Owen College (LOC or "LeMoyne-Owen") is a private historically black college affiliated with the United Church of Christ and located in Memphis, Tennessee. It resulted from the 1968 merger of historically black colleges and other schools established by northern Protestant missions during and after the American Civil War. Southwest Baptist University (SBU) is a private Baptist university in Bolivar, Missouri. It is affiliated with the Missouri Baptist Convention, which is part of the Southern Baptist Convention. In 2019, it had a total enrollment of 3,280 students attending at one of SBU's four Missouri campuses in Bolivar, Mountain View, Salem, or Springfield. History Abner S. Ingman and James R. Melvin Watkins
Melvin Lenzo Watkins (born November 15, 1954) is an American college basketball coach and former player. He has also been the associate head coach at the University of Missouri. He served as interim head coach during the end of the 2006 season, but returned to his former position when new coach Mike Anderson was hired. Early years Born in Reidsville, North Carolina, Melvin Watkins attended Reidsville High School. Watkins started for the Reidsville High basketball team for from 1970 to 1973.
