2012–13 Arizona Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2012–13 Arizona Wildcats men's basketball team represented the University of Arizona during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by fourth-year head coach Sean Miller and played home games at McKale Center in Tucson, Arizona as members of the Pac-12 Conference. Seeded 6th in the West Region of the 2013 NCAA tournament, the team defeated (11) Belmont and (14) Harvard by a combined score of 40 points before losing 73–70 to (2) Ohio State in the Sweet Sixteen. After starting the season undefeated in non-conference play the team went 12–6 in conference and fell to UCLA in the Pac-12 tournament semifinals. The team's mid-season record of 14–0 was the second best start in program history since the 1931–32 team opened the season 16–0. Sean Miller
Sean Edward Miller (born November 17, 1968) is an American college basketball coach who currently serves as head coach of the Xavier Musketeers men's basketball, Xavier Musketeers. He previously was in that position from 2004 to 2009, after which he took the head coach position for the Arizona Wildcats men's basketball, Arizona Wildcats, which he held until being fired in 2021. Miller is a three-time gold medalist as a member of USA Basketball: once as a player, once as an assistant coach, and once as head coach. Miller has won five league Coach of the Year Awards: once in the Atlantic 10 Conference, A10, three in the Pac-12, and once as USA Basketball Coach of the Year. The Coaches Poll is a weekly ranking of the top 25 NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) college football, Division I college basketball, and Division I college baseball teams. The football version of the poll has been known officially as the Amway Coaches Poll since 2014. Xavier Musketeers Men's Basketball
The Xavier Musketeers men's basketball team represents Xavier University (Cincinnati), Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. The school's team currently competes in the Big East Conference, and are coached by Sean Miller. Xavier has appeared in the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, NCAA tournament 28 times, 16 times in the 18 tournaments between 2001 and 2018. Mark Lyons
Mark Steven Lyons (born July 4, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for Elitzur Ashkelon of the Israeli National League. He played college basketball for Xavier and Arizona before playing professionally in France, Croatia, Israel, Turkey, China, Russia, Lebanon and Italy. Lyons won the Israeli League championship with Maccabi Rishon LeZion in 2016. He was the top scorer in the Israel Basketball Premier League in both 2015 and 2017. Gabe York (born August 2, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Arizona Wildcats, earning second-team all-conference honors in the Pac-12 as a senior in 2015–16. Kaleb Tarczewski (born February 26, 1993) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Olimpia Milano of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A and the EuroLeague.
