The 2012 Piazza di Siena – CSIO Rome was the 2012 edition of the CSIO Rome, the Italian official show jumping horse show, at the ''Piazza di Siena'' in Rome. It was held as CSIO 5*. In 2012 the Piazza di Siena horse show celebrates its 80th anniversary. In 1922, the first horse show were held at the Piazza di Siena. Since the year 1926 it is an international horse show. Two years later, in 1928, the horse show was first time the location of the Italian official show jumping horse show (CSIO = Concours de Saut International Officiel). The 2012 edition of the CSIO Rome was held between May 24, 2012 and May 27, 2012. Main sponsor of the 2012 Piazza di Siena horse show was Fixdesign. Nicola Philippaerts
Nicola Philippaerts (born 1993) is a Belgian show jumping rider. He is a native of Genk, Limburg, Belgium. He is the son of Ludo Philippaerts and twin brother of Olivier Philippaerts, both show jumping riders as well. Career He competed at the Equestrian at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, finishing 23rd individually but winning the gold medal in the team event. In 2011, he finished fifth in the Longines International Grand Prix of Ireland at the 2011 Dublin Horse Show. Gerco Schröder
Gerco Bernardus Schröder (born 28 July 1978, in Tubbergen) is a Dutch show jumping equestrian. He currently ranks third on the FEI Rolex Ranking List. Gerco Schröder represented the Netherlands at the 2004 Summer Olympics where he took part in the individual jumping competition and the show jumping team event alongside Wim Schröder, Leopold van Asten and Gert-Jan Bruggink. As an individual driving on his horse 'Monaco', Schröder was eliminated in the qualification round, ending up on the 48th position. He was 21st after the first qualification round, but 8 penalty points in his second round eliminated him. With the Dutch show jumping team he finished fourth with a total of 24 penalty points.
