2012 Men's Pan-American Volleyball Cup
The 2012 Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the seventh edition of the annual men's volleyball tournament, played by eight countries over July, 2012 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The event served as a qualifier for the 2013 FIVB Volleyball World League qualification. United States won the tournament for the fifth time after beating Argentina 3–0 in the final. Murphy Edward Troy (born May 31, 1989) is a former American volleyball player, a member of the United States men's national volleyball team, NORCECA Champion 2013, gold medalist of Pan-American Cup 2012 and World League 2014. Personal life Murphy Troy married his long-time girlfriend Blair Tarnutzer on October 29, 2016 in La Quinta, California. Troy enjoys visiting his sister Sarah "Sadie" Troy in Virginia, where she has worked as a Historical Interpreter at Thomas Jefferson's Monticello since 2014. Elvis Dalsires Contreras de los Santos (born 20 July 1979, in Tamayo), also known as Elvis Contreras, is a male volleyball player from the Dominican Republic, who won the silver medal with the Dominican Republic men's national volleyball team at the 2006 Pan-American Cup in Mexicali, Mexico. Career Contreras won the Best Spiker award at the 2001 NORCECA Championship, and Best Scorer at the 2005 version. José Miguel Cáceres Gómez (born December 24, 1981, in Tamayo) is a men's volleyball player from the Dominican Republic, who won a bronze medal with the men's national team at the 2008 Pan American Cup in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Career Cáceres won the "Most Valuable Player" at the 2004 Distrito Nacional Superior Tournament in Dominican Republic, helping Bameso to win the 19th Championship, defeating Los Prados in the 7th game of the final series.
