2012 UEC European Track Championships
The 2012 European Track Championships was the third edition of the elite European Track Championships in track cycling. It was held on October 19–21, 2012 and took place at the Cido Arena in Panevėžys, Lithuania. It was the first European Elite Track Championships that had opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was held on 19 October, an hour before the start of the evening session. Held some time after the 2012 Summer Olympics, a number of elite European cyclists, notably from Great Britain and France were not in attendance, either through retirement or a rest period. In their absence, the medal table was headed by Germany and the east European track powers; Russia, Belarus and hosts Lithuania. Schedule The competition days were split into two Sessions. Tamara Balabolina
Tamara Dronova (russian: Тамара Дронова, née Balabolina; born 13 August 1993) is a Russian track and road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team in road racing, and UCI Track Team Marathon–Tula in track cycling. After winning several medals as a junior and under-23 at the European Track Championships she won as an elite rider the bronze medal in the team pursuit at the 2014 UEC European Track Championships. Besides track cycling she also rides on the road and competed in 2013 at the Russian National Road Race Championships and Russian National Time Trial Championships. Laurie Berthon (born 26 August 1991) is a French track cyclist. She represented her nation in four editions of the UCI Track Cycling World Championships (from 2013 to 2016). Berthon competed for France in the women's omnium at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. There, she collected a total score of 163 points to wrap up the six-race series of the competition in tenth position. She announced her retirement from the sport in July 2019. Mieke Kröger (born 18 July 1993) is a German track and road racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Career After two years with the team, she rode for on the road in 2015. In November 2015, she was announced as part of the team's inaugural squad for the 2016 season.
