2012 BYU Cougars Football Team
The 2012 BYU Cougars football team represented Brigham Young University in the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cougars, led by head coach Bronco Mendenhall, played their home games at LaVell Edwards Stadium. This was the second year BYU competed as an independent. They finished the season 8–5. They were invited to the Poinsettia Bowl where they defeated San Diego State. Before the season 2012 Recruits As the home of the Cougars, BYUtv would sponsor their own National Letter of Intent Day signing day special. The special aired on Wednesday, February 1 at 7 PM MT and was rebroadcast that night at 10 PM MT and Thursday morning at 1 AM MT. Additionally a signing day press conference was broadcast on BYUtvsports.com live at 1:30 PM MT. Bronco Mendenhall
Marc Bronco Clay Mendenhall (born February 21, 1966) is an American football coach who most recently coached at The University of Virginia. He stepped down after the 2021 season. Mendenhall joined Virginia in 2015 after spending the previous eleven seasons as the head football coach at Brigham Young University, and resigned his position following the 2021 season. He has a career record of 135 victories and 81 losses, and has recorded fourteen postseason bowl game appearances with seven victories. Mendenhall is known for his unorthodox methods and "Earned Not Given" motto, even having players earn their jersey numbers each season. In 2019, Mendenhall became the first Virginia coach to bring both the Commonwealth Cup and Jefferson-Eppes Trophy to Charlottesville at the same time, and his Cavaliers also won the South's Oldest Rivalry in the same season. Argonaut High School
Argonaut High School is located in Jackson, California in Amador County. It has about 475 students in grades 9–12. Previously known as Jackson High School, the school merged with Ione High School in 1983 to become Argonaut High School, named after the Argonaut Mine just a 1/2 mile off campus. Academics Argonaut High received the coveted California Distinguished School award. Ponderosa High School (Colorado)
Ponderosa High School, commonly referred to as Pondo or PHS, is a public high school in Parker, Colorado. It is part of the Douglas County School District RE-1. Located in The Pinery, an unincorporated community south of Parker along SH 83, Ponderosa is the second oldest high school in Douglas County and the original high school in the Parker area. The school's team name is "The Mustangs" which was first adopted in 1980. Ponderosa first opened its doors in January 1983, five months later than anticipated due to construction delays. The school began with three grades with a small capacity but then added its fourth grade in 1992 as the population in Douglas County grew, thus increasing enrollment. Show Low High School
Show Low High School is a public high school in Show Low, Arizona. It is the only traditional high school under the jurisdiction of the Show Low Unified School District. The school enrolls an estimated 767 students in grades 9– 12. Show Low's mascot is a cougar and its school colors are green and gold. Alta High School is a secondary school in Sandy, Utah, United States which services students from the cities of Sandy and Draper. Founded in 1978, it is part of the Canyons School District. History The school opened in 1978. The modern, two-level brick building is situated on a site with an unobstructed view of both Oquirrh Mountain and Wasatch ranges. School is in session for 180 days per year on a traditional 9-month calendar. Richland High School (Washington)
Richland High School is a public secondary school in the northwest United States, located in Richland, Washington. The school was founded as Columbia High School in 1910 to serve the educational needs of the small town of Richland. The building was replaced with a much larger structure by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1946 as the development of the neighboring Hanford Engineering Works brought an influx of employees to the region to support the war effort. Tanner Mangum
Tanner Mangum (born September 8, 1993) is an American football quarterback who is currently a free agent. He played college football for the BYU Cougars. Early years Mangum attended Timberline High School until the end of his sophomore year and then transferred to Eagle High School in Eagle, Idaho. As senior at Eagle High School, he completed a school record 268 of 393 passes for 3,885 yards and 35 touchdowns. He was named a special recognition MVP of the Under Armour All-America Game for switching to the losing black team when they were down to a single quarterback.
