2012 Australian Open – Men's Singles
Defending champion Novak Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal in the final, 5–7, 6–4, 6–2, 6–7(5–7), 7–5 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2012 Australian Open. It was his third Australian Open title and fifth major title overall. The final lasted 5 hours and 53 minutes, which is the longest match in duration in Australian Open history and the longest major singles final by duration in the Open Era. It is often considered to be among the greatest matches in tennis history, and marked Nadal's third consecutive major final loss to Djokovic, with Nadal becoming the first man to lose three consecutive major finals in the Open Era. Feliciano López Díaz-Guerra (; born 20 September 1981) is a Spanish professional tennis player. Richard Gabriel Cyr Gasquet (; born 18 June 1986) is a French professional tennis player. His career-high ATP singles ranking is world No. 7, attained on 9 July 2007. John Isner
John Robert Isner (born April 26, 1985) is an American professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 8 in singles and No. 14 in doubles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). Hamstring
In human anatomy, a hamstring () is any one of the three posterior thigh muscles in between the hip and the knee (from medial to lateral: semimembranosus, semitendinosus and biceps femoris). The hamstrings are susceptible to injury. In quadrupeds, the hamstring is the single large tendon found behind the knee or comparable area. Juan Martín Del Potro
Juan Martín del Potro () (born 23 September 1988) is an Argentine inactive professional tennis player. Nicolás Almagro
Nicolás Almagro Sánchez (; born 21 August 1985 in Murcia, Spain) is a Spanish former professional tennis player. He reached the quarterfinals of the French Open in 2008, 2010 and 2012 (losing each time to Rafael Nadal, the eventual champion in each occasion), as well as the quarterfinals of the Australian Open in 2013 (losing to David Ferrer after leading by two sets to love).
