2012 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The 2012 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 126th edition of the Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament, played between 31 counties of Ireland (excluding Kilkenny who only take part in the hurling championship), London GAA, London and New York GAA, New York. The 2012 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final took place at Croke Park on 23 September 2012, with Donegal GAA, Donegal emerging victorious. Having reclaimed the 2012 Ulster Senior Football Championship, Ulster Senior Football Championship with wins over Cavan GAA, Cavan, Derry GAA, Derry, Tyrone GAA, Tyrone and Down GAA, Down, they met and bet Kerry GAA, Kerry in the All-Ireland quarter-final, in what was widely considered the game of the Championship. Croke Park ( ga, Páirc an Chrócaigh, ) is a Gaelic games stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Named after Archbishop Thomas Croke, it is referred to as Croker by GAA fans and locals. It serves as both the principal national stadium of Ireland and headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Since 1891 the site has been used by the GAA to host Gaelic sports, including the annual All-Ireland in Gaelic football and hurling. Conor Lane
Conor Lane is a Gaelic football referee. He is a member of the Banteer/Lyre club in County Cork and has refereed three All-Ireland SFC finals. Career Conor Lane was appointed to the national panel of referees for the senior championship panel in 2012. In 2013, he refereed the All-Ireland Minor final. The Derry manager severely criticised Lane after the team exited the 2015 All-Ireland SFC to Galway. The Sam Maguire Cup ( ga, Chorn Sam Mhic Uidhir), often referred to as Sam or The Sam , is a trophy awarded annually by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) to the team that wins the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the main competition in the sport of Gaelic football.
