2011–12 Utah State Aggies Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Utah State Aggies men's basketball team represented Utah State University in the 2011–12 college basketball season. This was head coach Stew Morrill's fourteenth season at Utah State. The Aggies played their home games at the Smith Spectrum and are members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 21–16, 8–6 in WAC play to finish in fourth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the WAC Basketball tournament to Louisiana Tech. They were invited to the 2012 CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they defeated Cal State Bakersfield, Idaho, Loyola Marymount and Oakland to advance to the championship game where they fell to Mercer. Stew Morrill
Stewart Morrill (born July 25, 1952) is an American college basketball coach and the former head coach of the Utah State University men's basketball team. Morrill was an All-American at Ricks College and a two-time All-Big Sky selection for Gonzaga University. He started his coaching career in 1974 as an assistant at Gonzaga, and continued at the University of Montana under Mike Montgomery in 1978. In the spring of 1986, he was promoted to head coach of the Grizzlies, and led them to an NCAA berth in 1991. Morrill coached at Colorado State University from 1991 to 1998 before resigning to go to Utah State. Morrill and Utah State gained national attention in March 2001 for their 77–68 upset of Ohio State in overtime in the NCAA tournament. On January 17, 2008, in an 82–78 victory over Boise State, Morrill logged his 226th Aggie victory, passing E. Lowell Romney to become the winningest coach in Utah State basketball history. College of the Sequoias (COS) is a public two-year community college in Visalia, California. The college is named for the Giant Sequoia trees native to the nearby Sierra Nevada mountain range. History College of the Sequoias was originally established in 1926 as Visalia Junior College as a department in the city high school. Its mission at that time was to provide inexpensive, lower-division college education to local high school graduates who intended to transfer to a traditional four-year college. Hebron High School (HHS) is one of five public high schools in the Lewisville Independent School District and is located in Carrollton, Texas. The school opened in 1999 and was the fourth high school to do so in its district. North Medford High School is a public high school in Medford, Oregon, United States. It is part of Medford School District, and its nickname is the Black Tornado. The school enrolls 1,750 students. History Originally the City of Medford had a single high school, Medford High School, constructed in the 1920s. Medford is a city in and the county seat of Jackson County, Oregon, in the United States. Maine Central Institute (MCI) is an independent high school in Pittsfield, Maine, United States that was established in 1866. The school enrolls approximately 430 students and is a nonsectarian institution. The school has both boarding and day students. History The Maine Central Institute was founded in 1866 by Rev. Oren B. Cheney and Rev. Ebenezer Knowlton, abolitionists who also founded Bates College in nearby Lewiston, Maine.
