2011–12 UAE President's Cup
The 2011–12 UAE President's Cup is the 36th season of the UAE President's Cup, the premier knockout tournament for association football clubs in the United Arab Emirates. The tournament was changed from previous editions and featured all 12 clubs from the Pro League, and the top four teams of the Federation Cup. The winners will qualify for the group stage of the 2013 AFC Champions League. Round of 16 Round of 16 consisted of eight matches played on 17–18 December 2011. Al-Jazira Club
Al Jazira Club is an Emirati professional football club based in Abu Dhabi, that currently competes in the UAE Pro League. History Al-Jazira was established in 1974 as a merger between ''Khalidiyah'' and ''Al Bateen''. The club struggled to stay in the league, getting relegated on multiple occasions during the 1980s and 1990s, but experienced a recent success when Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan invested into the club in the 2000s. Since his purchase, they won their first league title in 2011 and two more league titles in 2017 and 2021. Al Jazira have produced talented homegrown players such as Ali Mabkhout and Khalfan Mubarak and many others that would end up playing for the UAE national team. Al Nasr SC (Dubai)
Al-Nasr CSC ( ar, نادي النصر الرياضي) is an Emirati professional football club based in Al Nasr, Dubai and competes in the UAE Pro League. Al-Nasr, literally translating to "victory" in Arabic, was founded in 1945 and is considered as the first and oldest club in the United Arab Emirates. History Pre–UAE League era (1945–1973) Al Nasr Sports Club was founded by a group of young men in a Al Ghubaiba, Dubai in 1945, making it the oldest club in UAE footballing history. The team played in an empty playground near a highschool for three years until in 1948 were they finally decided to establish modern rules of football. Zayed Sports City Stadium
Zayed Sports City Stadium ( ar, ستاد مدينة زايد الرياضية) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The largest stadium in the UAE with 45,000 seats, it has iconic status and was featured on the AED 200 banknote. The stadium was opened in 1979 and was renovated in 2009, with many of the facilities and amenities upgraded to ensure that it complies with international standards and can be used for a wide range of events. Khor Fakkan Club ( ar, نادي خورفكان الرياضي الثقافي, formally known as Al Khaleej), usually known simply as Khor Fakkan, is an Emirati football club from Khor Fakkan. History Founded in 1981, the club won a UAE Federation Cup in the 1993–94 season. In June 2017 the club was rebranded with a new name and logo now it is known as Khor Fakkan. Sharjah Football Club ( ar, نادي الشارقة لكرة القدم) is an Emirati professional football club based in Sharjah that competes in the UAE Pro League. Their home stadium is Sharjah Stadium. Founded in 1966, it has been the most successful team in the Emirate of Sharjah, winning 6 pro league titles, 9 presidents cups and 2 super cups. The club was also the first official UAE league champion since its establishment in 1974. Al Wasl Football Club ( ar, نادي الوصل لكرة القدم) is an Emirati professional football club based in Dubai, that competes in the United Arab Emirates Football League. It is a part of the multi-sports club Al Wasl SC. Argentina-legend Diego Maradona was the manager of the club in 2011 and 2012. The club has a supporters group, named as the ''Ultras Junoon''. Overtime (sports)
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. Emirates Club ( ar, نادي الإمارات) is a professional football club based in the city of Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. They play in the UAE Pro League after being promoted from the UAE First Division League. They play their home games at the Emirates Club Stadium.
