2011–12 UAB Blazers Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 UAB Blazers men's basketball team represented the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Blazers' head coach, Mike Davis, was in his sixth season at UAB. The Blazers, who compete in Conference USA, played their home games at Bartow Arena. Mike Davis (basketball Coach)
Michael Davis (born September 15, 1960) is an American basketball coach at the University of Memphis. Prior to that he was most recently the head men's basketball coach at the University of Detroit Mercy, a position he held from 2018 to 2024. Davis also served as the head men's basketball coach at Indiana University Bloomington from 2000 to 2006, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) from 2006 to 2012, and Texas Southern University from 2012 to 2018. Playing career Davis, an Alabama native, spent his collegiate playing career with the University of Alabama Alabama Crimson Tide, Crimson Tide after earning the state's Alabama Mr. Basketball, Mr. Basketball honor in 1979. In his first season, he played for the legendary C. M. Newton and then spent his final three years playing under another coaching legend, Winfrey Sanderson, Wimp Sanderson. Jordan Tyler Swing (born December 31, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the Birmingham Squadron of the NBA G League. Bethel High School (Hampton, Virginia)
Bethel High School is a public high school located in the northwestern section of Hampton, Virginia, United States. Bethel is the third of four public high schools in Hampton City Schools along with Kecoughtan, Hampton, and Phoebus. History Bethel High School was built in 1968 to handle the overflow of Hampton High School and Kecoughtan High School students. Since the school board liked the Kecoughtan High School floor plan, Bethel's floor plan was designed similarly, with only a couple of differences (e.g., the courtyard and the 900 hallways). Ovie Soko (born 7 February 1991) is a British professional basketball player for the London Lions of the British Basketball League (BBL). Soko played college basketball for the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Duquesne University. He entered the 2014 NBA draft but he was not selected in the draft's two rounds.
