2011–12 Luton Town F.C. Season
The 2011–12 season was the 126th season in the history of Luton Town Football Club. Their third-place finish and subsequent penalty shoot-out loss to AFC Wimbledon in the Conference Premier play-off final in 2010–11 meant they competed in non-League football for the third consecutive year. Luton finished the season in fifth place – the club's lowest ever finish in the English football league system – though this was enough to secure a play-off place in the last game of the league season. As in 2010–11, Luton defeated Wrexham in the play-off semi-final, only to be beaten in the final, this time in a 2–1 loss to York City at Wembley Stadium. Manager Gary Brabin was sacked in late March 2012 after a poor run of results saw Luton fall to seventh in the table and lose in the FA Trophy semi-final. Luton Town F
Luton () is a town and unitary authority with borough status, in Bedfordshire, England. At the 2011 census, the Luton built-up area subdivision had a population of 211,228 and its built-up area, including the adjacent towns of Dunstable and Houghton Regis, had a population of 258,018. It is the most populous town in the county, from the County Towns of Hertford, from Bedford and from London. The town is situated on the River Lea, about north-north-west of London. The town's foundation dates to the sixth century as a Saxon outpost on the River Lea, from which Luton derives its name. Alan White (English Footballer)
Alan White (born 22 March 1976) is an English former professional footballer who made more than 400 appearances in the Football League. Career Born in Darlington, County Durham, White began his career as a trainee at Middlesbrough in 1995, but his only first-team appearance came in the Anglo-Italian Cup. He joined Luton Town in September 1997 for a fee of £40,000, and made over 80 league appearances in three seasons. He had a one-month loan spell with Colchester United in late 1999, and joined that club on a free transfer in July 2000. White made 166 appearances for Colchester in four seasons, scoring four goals, and was voted the club's player of the year in the 2003–04 season. Adam Newton
Adam Lee Newton (born 4 December 1980) is a former professional footballer who played for West Ham United, Peterborough United, Brentford and Luton Town. Born in England, he represented the England U21 national team and the Saint Kitts and Nevis senior national team at international level. Club career West Ham United Newton was born in Grays. Mark Richard Tyler (born 2 April 1977) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He was last the goalkeeping coach at club Peterborough United. He played for the England national under-17 team and the England national under-20 team. Career Peterborough United Born in Norwich, Norfolk, Tyler started his career as a trainee at hometown club Norwich City during the 1988–89 season. He then had trials for the Ipswich Town and Cambridge United youth teams during the 1992–93 season, before signing for the Peterborough United youth team, from which he progressed before the start of the 1994–95 season. Kevin Nicholls
Kevin John Richard Nicholls (born 2 January 1979) is an English former footballer who played in midfield. He most recently played for Luton Town, a club where he spent eight years at in two separate spells. At the beginning of his second stint at Luton in 2008, in which he dropped two divisions to play, Nicholls stated that his main motivation for returning was his love for the club. A long-term knee injury sustained in 2009 led to him volunteering to be released from his contract on 27 August 2010 and he subsequently retired from professional football. Nicholls is one of Luton's most successful captains, having won two promotions and the Football League Trophy during his tenure. Kevin Andrew Gallen (born 21 September 1975) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. He notably played in the Premier League for Queens Park Rangers over several seasons, and would have two spells with the Loftus Road club. He also played in the Football League for Huddersfield Town, Barnsley, Plymouth Argyle, Milton Keynes Dons, Luton Town and Barnet, before finishing his career in Non-league with Braintree Town, Leverstock Green and Aylesbury United. Thomas Craddock (born 14 October 1986) is a retired English professional footballer who played for multiple clubs including Spennymoor Town, Middlesbrough, and Portsmouth as a striker. Career Middlesbrough Born in Darlington, County Durham, Craddock came through the youth system at Middlesbrough since joining the academy from Darlington Spraire Lads when he was eleven years old, and was a member of their FA Youth Cup winning side in 2003–04. While at the academy, Craddock suffered a serious shoulder injury, but managed to overcome the injury and started out as attacker role and then switched to defense role before reverting to attacker role. Richard Money
Richard Money (born 13 October 1955) is an English former footballer and manager who was most recently manager of National League club Hartlepool United. Before this, he managed Cambridge United, overseeing the side's return to the Football League after a nine-year absence. Money was dismissed by Cambridge in November 2015. Playing career Born in Lowestoft, Suffolk, Money grew up a Norwich City fan. After captaining Lowestoft and Suffolk Boys as a youngster, he joined Ipswich Town as an associate schoolboy when he was 14. Crawley Town F
Crawley () is a large town and borough in West Sussex, England. It is south of London, north of Brighton and Hove, and north-east of the county town of Chichester. The Football League
The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League.
