2011–12 Kansas Jayhawks Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team represented the University of Kansas in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, which was the Jayhawks' 114th basketball season. As in every season since 1955–56, the team played its home games at Allen Fieldhouse on its campus in Lawrence, Kansas, US. After defeating rival Missouri on February 25, the Jayhawks clinched their 8th straight outright Big 12 championship. After defeating North Carolina, the Jayhawks advanced to their 14th Final Four in school history, where they defeated Ohio State 64-62 in the national semifinals. On April 2, Kansas faced Kentucky for the national title, losing to the favored Wildcats. Kansas had played both of its Final Four opponents during the regular season, losing to Kentucky on November 15 and defeating Ohio State on December 10. Bill Self
Billy Eugene Self Jr. (born December 27, 1962) is an American basketball coach. He is the head men's basketball coach at the University of Kansas, a position he has held since 2003. During his 19 seasons as head coach, he has led the Jayhawks to 16 Big 12 regular season championships, including an NCAA record 14 consecutive Big 12 regular season championships, some of which were shared (2005–2018). He has also led the Jayhawks to four NCAA Final Four appearances (2008, 2012, 2018, 2022), the 2008 NCAA championship and 2022 NCAA championship. Self was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017. At the end of the 2021–22 season, Self had the 18th most wins among Division I coaches in NCAA history and 4th among active head coaches. The 2011–12 Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team represented the University of Kentucky in the 2011–12 college basketball season. The team's head coach was John Calipari, who was in his third season after taking the Wildcats to their first Final Four in thirteen seasons. The team won the 2012 NCAA Championship, bringing Kentucky its eighth title. The team's 38 wins broke a record shared by 5 teams for the most wins in NCAA men's Division I history. Kevin Young (basketball, Born 1990)
Kevin Young Jr. (born June 24, 1990) is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player for the Osos de Manatí of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). He played college basketball for Loyola Marymount and Kansas. High school career Young attended Perris High School of the Sun Belt League. He helped his team go 25-7 overall and 10-0 in league play and leading his team to the CIF-SS Division 3 finals where it lost to Hemet West Valley. He finished his senior season averaging 16.1 points, 10.8 rebounds and 3.7 blocks. College career Young began his college basketball career with Loyola Marymount where he broke the LMU school freshman rebounds (224) and rebounds per game (7.2 rpg) records with 224 boards for 7.2 rpg and also set the LMU freshman records with 34 blocked shots and 51 steals. Braeden Anderson
K. Braeden Anderson (born September 28, 1992) is a lawyer and former college basketball player. He played for the Seton Hall Pirates where he won the Big East Conference Championship with the team in 2016. Anderson made headlines in college for playing Division I basketball while attending law school. Standing 6-foot-9-inches (2.06 m) tall, Anderson played as a forward.
