2011–12 Inter Milan Season
The 2011–12 season was Football Club Internazionale Milano's 103rd in existence and 96th consecutive season in the top flight of Italian football. The team competed for the 10th consecutive season in the Champions League, breaking a record for Italian clubs. The Derby d'Italia ( English: Derby of Italy) is the name of the football derby between Internazionale of Milan and Juventus of Turin. Samuel Eto'o Fils (; born 10 March 1981) is a Cameroonian football administrator and former player who is the current president of the Cameroonian Football Federation from 11 December 2021. Diego Martín Forlán Corazo (born 19 May 1979) is a Uruguayan professional football manager and former player who played as a forward. Regarded as one of the best forwards of his generation, Forlán is a two-time winner of both the Pichichi Trophy and the European Golden Shoe at club level. With the Uruguay national team, he had huge individual success at the 2010 World Cup, finishing as joint top scorer with five goals, including the goal of the tournament, and winning the Golden Ball as the tournament's best player. Ricardo "Ricky" Gabriel Álvarez (; born 12 April 1988) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Álvarez retired from football at the end of 2021. Álvarez began his club career in Argentina in 2008 with Vélez Sársfield. His performances earned him a move to Italian club Internazionale in 2011, where he remained until 2015. He joined English side Sunderland on-loan during the 2014–15 season, a move which was to become permanent should Sunderland retain their place in the Premier League for the following season.
