2011–12 FC Porto Season
The 2011–12 season is the Futebol Clube do Porto's 78th season in the Primeira Liga, officially known as the Liga ZON Sagres for sponsorship reasons. Porto captured their 25th league title last season with their 3 April defeat of rivals Benfica. Manager André Villas-Boas became their manager on 2 July 2010 and won the league with no losses in their domestic campaign. On 20 June 2011, Villas-Boas quit Porto to join Chelsea. The next day, Porto named Vítor Pereira as their new head coach. FC Porto
Futebol Clube do Porto, MHIH, OM (), commonly known as FC Porto or simply Porto, is a Portuguese professional sports club based in Porto. It is best known for the professional football team playing in the Primeira Liga, the top flight of Portuguese football. Founded on 28 September 1893, Porto is one of the " Big Three" (Portuguese: ''Os Três Grandes'') teams in Portugal – together with Lisbon-based rivals Benfica and Sporting CP, that have appeared in every season of the Primeira Liga since its establishment in 1934. Givanildo Vieira de Sousa (born 25 July 1986), known as Hulk (), is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Atlético Mineiro. After starting out professionally with Vitória and then playing three years in Japan, he played several seasons in Portugal with Porto, winning ten titles – including the 2010–11 UEFA Europa League and three national championships. He was crowned the league's top scorer once. In 2012, he joined Russian Premier League side Zenit Saint Petersburg for €60 million, winning all three domestic honours and being named the competition's best player and being top scorer, once each. Cristian Gabriel Rodríguez Barotti (; born 30 September 1985) is a Uruguayan footballer who plays as a left winger for Club Plaza Colonia de Deportes. Having received the nickname ''Cebolla'' (onion) from his Peñarol days, from his father, he is well known for his speed and technical ability. João Moutinho
João Filipe Iria Santos Moutinho (; born 8 September 1986) is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers and the Portugal national team. Moutinho began his professional career with Sporting CP, moving in 2010 to FC Porto and winning twelve major titles between the two clubs combined. Fernando Daniel Belluschi (, ; born 10 September 1983) is an Argentine midfielder currently playing for Estudiantes de Río Cuarto. Club career Belluschi began playing professionally at Newell's Old Boys in 2002, with whom he won the 2004 Apertura Championship. Álvaro Daniel Pereira Barragán (; born 28 November 1985) is a Uruguayan former footballer. Maicon Pereira Roque (born 14 September 1988), known simply as Maicon, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a central defender for Santos. Danilo Luiz da Silva (born 15 July 1991), known as Danilo, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a right-back for club Juventus and the Brazil national team. Helton da Silva Arruda (born 18 May 1978), known simply as Helton, is a Brazilian former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. After starting out at Vasco da Gama he went on to spend his professional career in Portugal, representing União de Leiria and Porto and winning 18 major titles for the latter club.
