Sofapaka Football Club (Sofapaka: Sote kama Familia kwa Pamoja Kuafikia Azimio – Kiswahili: ''We as a Family together to achieve a goal'') is a football club, based in Wundanyi, Taita Taveta County. They play their home games at the Wundanyi Stadium (also Known as Dawson Mwanyumba Stadium). History The club originates from the men’s fellowship of the MAOS Ministries football team founded in 2002, which took part in inter-church competitions. In 2004, Elly Kalekwa took over the team and formed Sofapaka, and eventually joined the Nationwide league. The team won the President's Cup in 2007, while still playing in the Nationwide League. The team's shirt sponsor is Betika, a sports betting company in Kenya. Nyayo National Stadium
Nyayo National Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Nairobi, Kenya. It is located at the square of Mombasa Road, Langata Road and the Aerodrome Road. It is approximately two kilometers from the City Center, directly opposite Nairobi Mega Mall, formerly known as Nakumatt Mega. The stadium was built in 1983 for a capacity of 15,000. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The popular AFC Leopards football club plays most of its home games at Nyayo stadium. The stadium is also used for athletics , swimming and various ceremonies most common of which are National Holiday celebrations. The 2012 Kenyan Super Cup was a Kenyan football match that was played on 5 February 2012. It was contested by Tusker, the 2011 Kenyan Premier League winners, and Gor Mahia, the 2011 FKL Cup winners. Tusker won 4-1 on penalties after the match ended 1-1 at full-time for their first title. The team's goalkeeper, Samuel Odhiambo, was awarded Man of the match after saving all but one of Gor Mahia's penalties during the shootout. In addition to lifting the trophy, Tusker were awarded a KSh.750,000/= cheque prize while Gor Mahia took home KSh.500,000/=. The Kenyan Super Cup is a Kenyan football championship contested by the winners of the Kenyan Premier League and the FKF President's Cup. 2010 Kenyan Premier League
The 2010 Kenyan Premier League was the seventh season of the Kenyan Premier League since it started in 2003 and the forty-seventh season of top division football in Kenya since 1963. It began on 20 February with Mahakama and Sony Sugar and ended on 14 November with Nairobi City Stars and Gor Mahia. Sofapaka had previously won the title but Ulinzi Stars finished top. Sofapaka still won the 2010 Kenyan Super Cup after defeating 12-time champions A.F.C. Leopards. After staying in the league for an entire decade, Red Berets, who were only two points behind KCB when they were relegated along with previously promoted Mahakama, disbanded to immense pressure from its sponsors to produce good performances.
