2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships were held at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris, France, from 4 to 6 March 2011. 577 athletes representing 46 countries competed at the championships. Twenty-six track and field events were contested, with the events programme divided equally between the genders. Russia topped the medal table, having won the most gold medals (six), as well as having gained the greatest total with fifteen. The host nation, France, was the next best performing team, with five golds being won by French athletes. Germany had the third highest medal haul, followed by Great Britain. Danielle Frenkel
Danielle Frenkel ( he, דניאל פרנקל; born September 8, 1987) is an Israeli high jumper. She was the first female Israeli to clear 1.90 meters, and the only woman who cleared more than 1.90 meters in international competition. Biography Danielle Frenkel was interested in being a professional dancer, and trained for years as a teenager with the Bat-Dor Dance Company. Two months after she began her army service, as a guide at Yad Vashem (a memorial to Jewish victims of the Holocaust), Israeli high jump coach Anatoly Shafran, who had seen her jump in a high school competition when she was 14, began an effort to convince her to jump competitively. Airinė Palšytė (born 13 July 1992) is a Lithuanian high jumper. She won the gold medal at the 2017 European Indoor Championships. Personal life Palšytė was born in Kaunas, Lithuania. Her father Aurimas Palšis was a professional basketball player. In 1998, Palšytė enrolled at the Simono Stanevičiaus Secondary School in Vilnius. Stine Kufaas (born 7 April 1986) is a Norwegian high jumper. Her personal best jump is 1.93 metres, achieved in June 2010 at a national competition at Lillehammer. She has 1.92 metres on the indoor track, achieved in February 2010 in Eskilstuna. She is also the Norwegian record holder in the standing high jump (1,53m). Tonje Angelsen (born 17 January 1990) is a Norwegian high jumper. Angelsen was considered a promising high jumper when she set a Norwegian age record at 1.82 m 16 years old (2006).
