Tropicana Field (commonly known as the Trop) is a Multi-purpose stadium, multi-purpose domed stadium located in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States. Gasparilla Bowl
The Gasparilla Bowl is an annual NCAA-sanctioned post-season college football bowl game played in the Tampa Bay area. It was first played in 2008 as the St. Petersburg Bowl at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The game was renamed the Gasparilla Bowl in 2017 as a nod to the legend of José Gaspar, a mythical pirate who supposedly operated in the Tampa Bay area and who is the inspiration for Tampa's Gasparilla Pirate Festival. In May 2018, the owners announced the bowl would be relocated to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Rakeem Cato (born March 28, 1992) is an American football quarterback for the Fayetteville Mustangs of the National Arena League (NAL). He played college football at Marshall and was the Thundering Herd's starting quarterback from 2011 to 2014. As a professional, he has played for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and various Indoor/Arena football leagues. Early years Cato attended Miami Central High School in West Little River, Florida. During his career he passed for 9,412 yards with 103 touchdowns and 23 interceptions. Vincent Curry (born June 30, 1988) is an American football defensive end for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football for Marshall, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft, with whom he won Super Bowl LII. Curry wore number 75 with the Eagles out of respect for the 75 people lost in the crash of Southern Airways Flight 932, a Marshall football charter flight in 1970. The 2009 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl was an NCAA-sanctioned bowl game (previously the Motor City Bowl game) played at 1:00 PM EST on December 26, 2009, at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan and aired on ESPN.
