2010–11 VCU Rams Men's Basketball Team
The 2010–11 VCU Rams men's basketball team represented Virginia Commonwealth University in the Colonial Athletic Association conference during the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Rams, led by second year head coach Shaka Smart, played their home games at the Stuart C. Siegel Center. They finished the season 28–12, 12–6 in CAA play and lost in the championship game of the 2011 CAA men's basketball tournament to Old Dominion. They received an at-large bid in the 2011 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament where they played in the new ''First Four'' round, defeating USC.They defeated Georgetown and Purdue in the second and third rounds, respectively, to advance to the ''Sweet Sixteen''. Shaka Smart
Shaka Dingani Smart (born April 8, 1977) is an American men's college basketball coach. He is the current head men's basketball coach at Marquette University. Early life and playing career Smart grew up in Oregon, Wisconsin. In high school, Smart was a three-year starter for Oregon High School (Wisconsin), Oregon High School in his hometown. He was a second-team All-Badger Conference pick as a senior and by the end of his career was the all-time assists leader at Oregon High for a career (458), season (201) and single game (20). Smart attended NCAA Division III, Division III Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where he remains the school's career assists leader (542) twenty years after his playing career ended. The 2010–11 Butler Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Butler University in the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach was Brad Stevens, serving his 4th year. The Bulldogs played their home games at the Hinkle Fieldhouse, which has a capacity of approximately 10,000. They are members of the Horizon League. They were the first team to reach consecutive final four without being a one or a two seed either year. By reaching the 2011 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament championship game, they were the third eight-seed team to do so and the first since the 1984–85 Villanova Wildcats. Gahanna, Ohio
Gahanna ( ) is a city situated in northeast Franklin County, Ohio, United States. It is a suburb of Columbus. The population was 35,726 at the 2020 census. It was founded in 1849. Jamie Skeen
Jamie O'Brien Skeen (born May 2, 1988) is an American professional basketball player for Leuven Bears of the Pro Basketball League. College career Between 2006 and 2008, Skeen played college basketball for Wake Forest. Skeen was declared ineligible for the fall semester of the 2008–09 season for violating the school's academic policy. He informed the team in early December 2008 he would not appeal for reinstatement to the university, and subsequently transferred to VCU. Bradford Burgess (born April 29, 1990) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Liège Basket of the Pro Basketball League. Darius Theus (born January 12, 1990) is an American former basketball player. He played collegiately for VCU. He played professionally in the Netherlands and Germany. Professional career In 2013, Theus signed his first pro contract with Aris Leeuwarden, a team in the Dutch Basketball League. Juvonte Reddic (born May 23, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for Ironi Kiryat Ata of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. A 6' 9" power forward, Reddic played college basketball for Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). College career Reddic chose VCU over Maryland, Ole Miss and Oklahoma out of Quality Education Academy in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
