2010–11 Syracuse Orange Men's Basketball Team
The 2010–11 Syracuse Orange men's basketball team represented Syracuse University in the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The head coach was Jim Boeheim, serving for his 35th year. The team played its home games at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York and are members of the Big East Conference (1979–2013), Big East Conference. They finished the season 27–8, 12–6 in Big East play and lost in the semifinals of the 2011 Big East men's basketball tournament to 2010–11 Connecticut Huskies men's basketball team, Connecticut. They received an at-large bid in the 2011 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament where they beat 2010–11 Indiana State Sycamores men's basketball team, Indiana State in the second round before being upset in the third round by 2010–11 Marquette Golden Eagles men's basketball team, Marquette. Big East Conference (1979–2013)
The Big East Conference was a collegiate athletics conference that consisted of as many as 16 universities in the eastern half of the United States from 1979 to 2013. The conference's members participated in 24 NCAA sports. The conference had a history of success at the national level in basketball throughout its history, while its shorter (1991 to 2013) football program, created by inviting one college and four other "associate members" (their football programs only) into the conference, resulted in two national championships. In basketball, Big East teams made 18 Final Four appearances and won 7 NCAA championships as Big East members through 2013 (UConn with three, Georgetown, Syracuse, Louisville and Villanova with one each). Wesley Johnson (basketball)
Wesley JaMarr Johnson (born July 11, 1987) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is a player development assistant for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for Syracuse University and Iowa State University. He was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
