2010–11 Illinois State Redbirds Men's Basketball Team
The 2010–11 Illinois State Redbirds men's basketball team represented Illinois State University during the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Redbirds, led by fourth year head coach Tim Jankovich, played their home games at Redbird Arena and competed as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. They finished the season 12–19, 4–14 in conference play to finish in a tie for ninth place. They were the number nine seed for the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. Redbird Arena
CEFCU Arena, formerly known as Redbird Arena, is a 10,200-seat multi-purpose arena located in Normal, Illinois, on the campus of Illinois State University. Built in 1989, the building is notable for its use of a Teflon-coated roof that gives off a "glow" during night events. Three Illinois State Redbirds athletic teams use the facility as their home court: men's basketball, women's basketball, and women's volleyball. The arena was renamed CEFCU Arena after the school and CEFCU agreed to a 10-year naming rights deal. Sports Illinois State is one of just 10 college volleyball programs to draw more than 250,000 fans in the last decade. The 2010–11 Missouri State Bears basketball team represented Missouri State University during the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bears, led by third year head coach Cuonzo Martin, played their home games at JQH Arena and are members of the Missouri Valley Conference. They finished the season 26–9, 15–3 in Missouri Valley play to win the regular season conference championship. The 2010–11 Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team represented Creighton University during the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Trask Coliseum
Trask Coliseum is a 5,200-seat multi-purpose arena in Wilmington, North Carolina. The coliseum was opened in 1977 and named after Raiford Graham Trask, a trustee of Wilmington College. It is home to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington Seahawks basketball team, as well as some graduations for New Hanover County high schools. Mountain West–Missouri Valley Challenge
The Mountain West – Missouri Valley Challenge was an in-season NCAA Division I men's college basketball series, matching up teams from the Mountain West Conference (MW) and the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). The series began in November 2009 and featured all of the MW teams against most of the MVC teams. The series was discontinued after the 2018 iteration. The first challenge was held in 2009. The conferences agreed to a four-year deal, extending the challenge through 2012. The challenge was not extended beyond its original term and ended after 2012. However, it was announced on April 2, 2015 that the conferences would renew the series in 2015. Since the Mountain West now has 11 members to the MVC's 10, all Missouri Valley members were competing in the renewed series, with one MW team sitting out.
