2010 Washington Stealth Season
The Washington Stealth are a lacrosse team based in Everett, Washington. The team plays in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The 2010 season was the inaugural season in Washington, but the 11th in franchise history (previously the San Jose Stealth and Albany Attack). The Stealth finished first overall, and captured the first NLL Championship in franchise history. National Lacrosse League
The National Lacrosse League (NLL) is a men's professional box lacrosse league in North America. The league is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The NLL currently has fifteen teams: ten in the United States and five in Canada. The NLL ranks third in average attendance for pro indoor sports worldwide, behind only the National Hockey League, NHL and National Basketball Association, NBA. Unlike other box lacrosse leagues which play in the summer, the NLL plays its games in the winter and spring, from December to June. Each year, the playoff teams battle for the National Lacrosse League Cup. The NLL has averaged between 8,900 and 10,700 spectators per game each year since 2004. Toronto Rock
The Toronto Rock are a professional box lacrosse franchise based in Hamilton, Ontario, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. They are members of the North Division of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The team was the first Canadian franchise in the NLL. Oakville, Ontario, Oakville resident Jamie Dawick is the current owner of the Rock, purchasing the team after the 2009 season. Since 2014, Dawick has also served as their general manager. The Rock play their home games at FirstOntario Centre which they currently share with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the Ontario Hockey League, OHL. The franchise was founded in 1998 as the Ontario Raiders in Hamilton. The Raiders played at Copps Coliseum before being sold to a group of investors led by then Toronto Maple Leafs Assistant GM Bill Watters, who relocated the franchise to Toronto. Paul Rabil
Paul Rabil (born December 14, 1985), is an American former professional lacrosse player and co-founder of the Premier Lacrosse League. He played for the Cannons Lacrosse Club and Atlas Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League, as well as the Boston Cannons and the New York Lizards of Major League Lacrosse and the San Jose/Washington Stealth and Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League. Youth Rabil was born in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He started playing lacrosse at the age of 12. He attended Watkins Mill High School in Montgomery Village, Maryland, then went on to graduate from DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. Cam Sedgwick
Cam Sedgwick (born February 14, 1978, in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a professional lacrosse player for the Washington Stealth of the National Lacrosse League. He played his last game on Saturday, April 28, 2012 NLL career Cam Sedgwick was originally drafted by the Toronto Rock (second round 13th overall) in 1998. He played three seasons for Vancouver Ravens (2002–04) prior to joining Stealth. Sedgwick was named Rookie of the Month (January 2003) as a member of the Ravens. He scored 48 points (16 goals, 32 assists) for Vancouver in 2003. Sedgwick was selected first round (third overall) by Arizona in the Vancouver Dispersal Draft in 2004. Rhys W. Duch (born July 14, 1986, in Victoria, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional lacrosse player for the Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League. During high school, he played for three years at Baggataway Club in Victoria, B.C. He was a two-time Provincial and overall MVP selection, and an eight-time Provincial All-Star. Eric Martin (lacrosse)
Eric Martin (born November 12, 1961 in Norfolk, Virginia) is a professional lacrosse defenseman for the Washington Stealth of the National Lacrosse League and Denver Outlaws of the Major League Lacrosse. Martin started playing field lacrosse in his high school freshman year in Virginia Beach at Norfolk Academy, and continued as a walk-on for the top ranked DIII Salisbury State University (MD) Seagulls. He originally thought we was walking into the Salisbury School of Interpretive dance. To his surprise he was once again mistaken as he is most of the time. Rather than hide Eric used his shame and embarrassment to fuel a run to 2 National Championships at Salisbury, was a 2x All-American, 2x Defender of the Year, and was selected as the DIII Overall Player of the Year. Curtis Hodgson
Curtis Hodgson (born August 12, 1981 in Burnaby, British Columbia) is a former professional indoor lacrosse, lacrosse defenseman for the Washington Stealth of the National Lacrosse League, where he won the National Lacrosse League Cup, Champions Cup. Hodgson earned a Bachelor's degree from Simon Fraser University where he played lacrosse for four seasons. He is currently a teacher at Burnaby Central Secondary School where he also serves as co-athletic director and teaches Social Studies and Physical Education. Matt Roik
Matt Roik (born November 17, 1979, in Dunnville, Ontario) is a professional lacrosse goaltender who has played in the National Lacrosse League. Roik most recently played for the Toronto Rock, and has also played for the Washington Stealth, San Jose Stealth, Chicago Shamrox, Philadelphia Wings, Anaheim Storm, and New Jersey Storm. NLL career Roik was selected with the final pick (72nd overall) of the 1999 NLL Entry Draft by the Toronto Rock, but was subsequently traded to the New Jersey Storm. He played two seasons in New Jersey, and stayed with the organization as they moved to Anaheim. Tyler Richards
Tyler Richards (born September 22, 1986 in Coquitlam, British Columbia) is a lacrosse coach and former professional Canadian lacrosse goaltender. He is the goaltending coach for the Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League. As a player, he played for the Calgary Roughnecks, Washington Stealth, Vancouver Stealth and San Jose Stealth of the NLL as well as the New Westminster Salmonbellies of the WLA. The National Lacrosse League entry draft is an annual event where the general managers of National Lacrosse League teams choose eligible players for their rosters from US college programs and Canada's junior lacrosse system.
