2010 St Patrick's Athletic F.C. Season
The 2010 season is St Patrick's Athletic F.C.'s 81st year in existence, and their 59th year in the top division. The previous season the Saints finished 7th, failing to qualify for any European Competition. Pre-season When the 2009 season finished, St Pats underwent a revamp. Most of the squad from the 2009 season was let go, only 5 players from 2009 were kept for 2010. On 9 December Pete Mahon was appointed manager after successfully leading the Saints out of relegation trouble last season. Pete Mahon signed 13 players during pre-season, creating a good deal of excitement amongst the fans. The team spent a weekend in Wexford where they defeated Wexford Youths 3–0. Gary Rogers
Gary Rogers (born 25 September 1981) is an Irish coach and former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Rogers was also called up to the Republic of Ireland national football team. He also played Gaelic football for and coached the Meath county team, and has also coached the Cavan, Monaghan and Westmeath county teams. Playing career Shelbourne Rogers played with St Francis when he was younger and was spotted by Dermot Keely and was brought to the Shelbourne youth team. While with the youth team, he had a trial at Stockport County. He did not get a contract and upon his return he never made a first-team appearance for Shelbourne. Drogheda United
Drogheda United Football Club ( ga, Cumann Peile Dhroichead Átha Aontaithe) is a semi-professional Irish association football club based in Drogheda, County Louth playing in the League of Ireland Premier Division. They play their home matches at Head In The Game Park. The current club is the amalgamation of two former clubs in the town: Drogheda United, a non-league club founded in 1919; and Drogheda F.C., founded in 1962. Conor Kenna
Conor Kenna (born 21 August 1984) is a retired Irish footballer who played as a centre back. Club career Shelbourne & UCD Kenna began his League of Ireland career with Shelbourne where he was a primary figure in the Reds' under 21 squad and was briefly part of their first team squad. He left Shels prior to the start of 2004 League of Ireland season to join First Division UCD for whom he helped to promotion to the Premier Division with a 2nd-place finish. His primary role was at centre back although he deputised on many occasions at left back for UCD in spite of being right footed. Kenna formed a highly successful partnership at centre back with Alan McNally in a defence that gave up the fourth fewest goals in the 2006 League of Ireland season. Shamrock Rovers Football Club ( ga, Cumann Peile Ruagairí na Seamróige) is an Irish association football club based in Tallaght, South Dublin. Ian Bermingham
Ian Bermingham (born 6 June 1989 in Dublin) is an Irish former professional footballer that played 13 seasons with League of Ireland Premier Division club, St Patricks Athletic, where he was club captain and is the all-time appearance record holder. He previously spent two seasons at UCD and a season at Shamrock Rovers. Club career Early career Raised in Ballyfermot, Bermingham began playing football with his local side Ballyfermot United. Athlone (; ) is a town on the border of County Roscommon and County Westmeath, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. It is located on the River Shannon near the southern shore of Lough Ree. Chris Bennion (born 30 August 1980, in Edinburgh) is a Scottish former football player. He is currently 1st team Goalkeeping coach with Bohemian Football Club. Football career Chris Bennion is a former professional goalkeeper, currently head goal keeping coach at league of ireland club Bohemian.
