2010 Navotas Local Elections
Local elections was held in the city of Navotas on May 10, 2010 within the Philippine general election. The brother (John Rey Tiangco) of the incumbent-mayor, Toby Tiangco was elected to the city mayoralty. Partido Navoteño won a majority of won seats. Mayoral and vice mayoral election Incumbents mayor Tobias Reynald Tiangco and vice mayor Patrick Joseph Javier were on their third term as mayor and second term as vice mayor of Navotas, respectively. Toby's brother, John Rey, announced that he would run for the mayoralty of the city. They are running under the Nationalist People's Coalition although Javier was endorsed by the Liberal Party. If Javier wins, he will be on his third and final term. Mayor Tiangco is running for a congressional post in the Lone District. John Rey Tiangco
John Reynald Marcelo Tiangco (born November 21, 1972) is a Filipino people, Filipino politician who has served as mayor of Navotas since 2022, having previously held the position from 2010 to 2019. A member of the local Partido Navoteño, Tiangco served as the representative for the Navotas's at-large congressional district, lone district of Navotas prior to his return to the city's mayoralty, preceding and succeeding his brother Toby Tiangco, Toby. 2010 Philippine House Of Representatives Elections
The 2010 Philippine House of Representatives elections were held on May 10, 2010, to elect members to the House of Representatives of the Philippines to serve in the 15th Congress of the Philippines from June 30, 2010, to June 30, 2013. The Philippines uses parallel voting for seats in the House of Representatives; a voter has two votes: one for a representative from one's legislative district, and another for a sectoral representative via closed lists under the party-list system, with a 2% election threshold and 3-seat cap, when the parties with 2% of the national vote or more not meeting the 20% of the total seats, parties with less than 2% of the vote will get one seat each until the 20% requirement is met. Toby Tiangco
Tobias Renald Marcelo Tiangco (born November 21, 1967) is a Filipino politician currently serving as congressman for Navotas' lone district since 2022, position he previously held from 2010 to 2019. He was also the Mayor of Navotas for several times. Personal life Tiangco was born into a middle-class family on November 21, 1967, in Manila. He is the son of Restituto B. Tiangco and Erlinda M. Tiangco. He helped his parents by working at the early age with his brother, John Rey. Tiangco attended primary and secondary education at Xavier School in San Juan and later graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Management from Ateneo de Manila University. He worked as the Assistant Operation Manager at the Engineering & Maintenance Department of Trans-Pacific Journey Fishing Corporation from 1991 to 1994 and was promoted to General Manager in 1994 and Executive Vice President in 1996.
