2010 MLL Season
The 2010 Major League Lacrosse season was the tenth season of the league. The season began on May 15, 2010 and concluded with the championship game on August 22, 2010. Major League Lacrosse
Major League Lacrosse (MLL) was a men's field lacrosse league in the United States. The league's inaugural season was in 2001. Teams played anywhere from ten to 16 games in a summertime regular season. This was followed by a four-team playoff for the championship trophy, the Steinfeld Trophy, named after founder Jake Steinfeld. League attendance peaked at 6,417 in 2011 and the 2019 average was 4,587. The Chesapeake Bayhawks and New York Lizards (originally the Baltimore Bayhawks and Long Island Lizards) were MLL members throughout its existence and competed in the first three championship games, with the Lizards winning two. The Boston Cannons, the last of the six charter franchises to remain in their original market with their original name, won their first championship in 2011. The Philadelphia Barrage returned to the league in 2020 after an 11-season hiatus. Harvard Stadium
Harvard Stadium is a U-shaped college football stadium in the northeast United States, located in the Allston neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. The stadium is owned and operated by Harvard University and is home to the Harvard Crimson football program. The stadium's seating capacity is 30,323. Built in 1903, it was a pioneering execution of reinforced concrete in the construction of large structures. Because of its early importance in these areas, and its influence on the design of later stadiums, it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987. The stadium is the nation's oldest permanent concrete structure dedicated to intercollegiate athletics. Peet Poillon
Peet Poillon (born May 21, 1987 in La Jolla, California) is a professional lacrosse player who played for the Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse. Playing Career Overview Poillon was a two-time All-American for Ohio State University and University of Maryland, Baltimore County. In 2009, he was selected a Second Team All-American for UMBC and in 2008 he led Ohio State to a 15 to 7 first-round upset of Cornell. Poillon attended Seneca Valley High School north of Pittsburgh, where he was an All-American in lacrosse and where Poillon and his father started up lacrosse as a varsity sport. Poillon's father attended school board meetings and Peet collected signatures to make the lacrosse program happen at Seneca Valley. Poillon set the Western Pennsylvania Scholastic Lacrosse Association's scoring record with 410 career goals. Matt Poskay
Matt Poskay (born January 13, 1984) is an American professional lacrosse player who played with the Boston Cannons and New York Lizards of Major League Lacrosse (MLL). Poskay attended Arthur L. Johnson High School (Clark, New Jersey), where he set a national high school record for goals scored in his career. He played his collegiate lacrosse at the University of Virginia, where he won collegiate national titles in both 2003 and 2006. He was part of the MLL championship team in 2011 with the Cannons. Poskay scored 468 points during his high school career, a New Jersey state record that stood was broken by Canyon Birch, who graduated from Manasquan High School in 2019 with 558 points.
